If you want to know how the ruling party sees the common people, just from the date of the polling day can see liao....

By putting it on a saturday, those huge swathes of white collar workers in private sector with a 5 day work week will get no PH to rest.

From MOM:

"Is an employee entitled to another day off if a public holiday falls on a rest day or non-working day?

Yes, if the holiday falls on a rest day, the next working day is a paid holiday.
If the holiday falls on a non-working day or off day, the employer may decide to compensate the employee with an extra day’s pay in lieu of that holiday or give the employee another day off as a holiday."

In other words, not legally required to give you a day off...

Now, you all know why PSP fight so hard for more PHs???

GE2025: PSP says it has been hard at work despite the redrawn boundaries, is ready to engage voters

9ec4b5bf0b1d9eb2d9b55a35cc620fb178ec374149333719da94f4f631c9b3ae

[highlights]:

“Hazel and I have worked hard in Parliament over the past five years, having filed over 700 parliamentary questions, eight private member’s full motions, six adjournment motions and one private member’s Bill, the only one to have been filed by an opposition MP,” said Mr Leong in a statement after the Writ of Election was issued.

He was referring to Ms Hazel Poa, the party’s first vice-chairperson. Both Mr Leong and Ms Poa are non-constituency MPs who entered Parliament by virtue of having been one of the best-performing losers at the last election.

“PSP stands on our track record, and we are ready to engage the voters to buy into our vision of ‘Progress For All’ for Singapore,” he said. “Progress For All” is the party’s new campaign slogan.

PS FB
[Support WP’s Campaign for GE2025]

As we look ahead to the upcoming General Election, your support has never been more important.

Singapore’s system of democracy was designed to enable the election of an opposition presence in Parliament — a loyal opposition — that works in the interests of the country. There is nothing disloyal about offering alternative views. The views from the Workers’ Party are grounded in the desire to achieve better outcomes for Singapore and Singaporeans.

As an opposition party with a modest presence in Parliament, we continue to speak up for those whose voices risk being overlooked. We examine existing policies and propose fresh ideas to meet the evolving needs and aspirations of a more diverse and complex society.

But we cannot do this alone.

An election campaign requires significant resources — including outreach efforts, logistics and transport, production of campaign posters and banners, sound systems and stage equipment for election rallies, along with other essential operational costs. Like the cost of living, the cost of an election campaign has also risen considerably. We do not have access to the same scale of funding as the ruling party. We depend on the support of fellow Singaporeans, like you, who believe in balance, accountability and choice.

If you believe in a future shaped by a broader set of ideas, in a Parliament where all Singaporeans are represented, then please support us.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, goes towards our mission of Working for Singapore.
Please donate to the Workers’ Party at: wp.sg/donate

Thank you for your support!

is it unusual PAP has not introduced all candidates then dissolve parliament ?
Need to strike when iron’s hot when:
1)The fear among people about the US tariffs is still there
2)PM being the only person who can campaign for his team on cooling day (his labor day speech on 1 May will be carried on headlines of our mainstream media on 2 May)
