Ms Chong currently works in the social impact sector, where she leads the early childhood development, education, and youth mental health and wellbeing portfolios at Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC). She joined APC in June last year.

The 33-year-old worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2017 to 2024, with three years at the Singapore Embassy in Beijing. Ms Chong is a former government scholar.

She joined the party as a volunteer in the second half of last year, said Mr Singh.Since then, she has gone on house visits in Bedok Reservoir and Kovan, and currently serves as a volunteer caseworker at Meet-the-People Sessions in Aljunied GRC alongside Mr Giam.

I would be wary of her, unless the WP cadre is smart enough to use her credentials to win a GRC first, then subsequently think of how to handle her. Don’t need more Chen Show Maos or Raeesah Khans. There’s another female lawyer from MAS who just quit last year to join the WP line-up too… very suspicious.

WP is going in the right direction. It takes time for us to know the new faces, but better late than never!
Can see the quality of most candidates unveiled so far, and win or loss aside, it shows many are waking up and stepping up to do the best for the country.

Especially some of these candidates like this lady is in her 30s only, and held a government job at MFA somemore for 7 years, I am sure she sees what is exactly wrong up close and personal. Even if this time don't win, it's ok, it takes time and all of us are in this together.
