NSP on standby for Sembawang West SMC

For Sembawang West SMC, where a straight fight is expected between PAP’s Poh Li San and SDP chief Chee Soon Juan, the NSP is not leaving anything to chance.

Although NSP earlier stood down from a fight here, party chief Spencer Ng told reporters that his party has nomination papers and potential candidates “on standby”, including for Sembawang West SMC.

He added that the backup candidates could be used if “maybe any of the candidates from other parties drop off”.

“We do not wish to have a walkover. We want to offer a very fair contest in this GE.”
