The DPM Gan call with US commerce secretary is a big win, if they can release the call or transcript, it will be an oppo wipeout. If they can simultaneously show they can speak to China, oppo can pangkang liao.

I was wondering what's happening to RDU in JE BB after the candidate made a police report, I didn't even receive anything from them.

Opposition parties want more seats, but not responsibility: PM Wong

Opposition parties expect the PAP to carry the burden of tackling the challenges that Singapore faces, says PM Wong.

“I don’t want to bring you bad news, certainly not in an election campaign,” he says. “It would be far easier to paint a rosy picture, to give you just sweet promises. But you know this is not the PAP way.”

He adds that the ruling party has always been honest and upfront with the public, and that Singaporeans deserve to know what is at stake.

“Yet throughout this campaign, have you heard any opposition party talk seriously about these challenges we face?” asks PM Wong.

“Not a single one. To them, this is the PAP’s burden to carry,” he says, adding that the opposition wants more seats in the Parliament, but not more responsibility.

did he really say this? i think in general, we would want to see more accountability. by taking accountability, i think we do not mean sacking the person or forcing the person to quit. But more of a "how they can make the situation right" and prevent similar mistakes

Property bubble burst can have huge impacts in the long-term one.

Back then Japan's bubble burst then shortly after LDP lost power in 1993.

The opposition took over and reformed the constitution to implement proportional representation (and parallel voting system) , thus Japan moved from FPTP to their current parliamentary system now.

Just pray long-term effects is not disastrous can le, if not like China after Evergrande went burst in 2021 then they become gig economy where university graduates do gig jobs.
Sg property always bucks d trend vs rest of d worlds. Due to strong demand. Let's c can continue on for how long.

Yea d ramifications r huge. As we can alr see form d examples u quoted.

Just remove the person that is making mistakes so we dun have to waste time in prevention.

How to Score a Goal… And Then Give It All Away

In Singapore’s most recent election roundtable, the ruling party received four times the airtime of each opposition parties.
How did this affect the debate? In this video, we break down the dynamics of airtime allocation and its influence on political messaging.

Watch as we analyze how the ruling party used its extra time to present their points effectively — and how, in the end, they may have scored an "own goal."
Through a detailed comparison between the Workers' Party and the PAP, we explore how time, strategy, and messaging shape the outcomes of political debates.

We also dive into a key lesson: when watching debates, it’s not just about the words spoken, but the rules behind the scene.

Be aware of how airtime allocation and strategic timing can influence your perception of the candidates. If you're interested in understanding how political debates work and how media strategies can influence elections, this video provides valuable insights into the mechanics of public discourse.

The choice lies with you, PM Wong tells voters

PM Wong notes that there are multiple opposition parties here, with the WP and the PSP already in Parliament, focusing on the eastern and western parts of Singapore.

He says that other opposition parties are also trying to seek breakthroughs, leading to a tough election.

If the opposition manages to win several constituencies, and the PAP were returned to govern, it could be with a severely weakened mandate and will weaken Singapore, PM Wong says.

“How am I going to form an effective Cabinet losing three or four ministers? In the end, the choice lies with you,” PM Wong says.

Urging Singaporeans for their support, he says that their votes matter because he needs a team to build tomorrow’s leadership, not just to form today’s government.
May I be so bold as to suggest to the PM that he can also choose cabinet ministers from the opposition parties if his own people are deemed incapable in his eyes.

Government is seizing new opportunities and jobs for Singaporeans: PM Wong

Singapore’s economy will be significantly impacted if the US persists in its high tariffs, but Singapore can and will adjust, says PM Wong.

He adds that Singapore can benefit from new opportunities as many companies will want to reconfigure their supply chains and invest in Asia – which can bring in a good pipeline of investments and create better jobs for Singaporeans.

All these will require a major restructuring of our economy, says PM Wong, and the Government will invest significantly to equip and prepare Singaporeans for new jobs that will be different from the jobs of today.

He says that the Government will do more for new graduates, such as by stepping up career sessions and job matching programmes in institutes of higher learning.

Those already in the workforce will be provided with a “fresh and substantial injection of skills”, and the Government will continue to improve the SkillsFuture system of lifelong learning.

“For people who lose their jobs, it’s tough, but I tell you we will be there to catch you and help you bounce back stronger,” says PM Wong.

PM Wong concludes speech on the new Singapore dream: A better balance

PM Wong concludes his Fullerton rally speech by outlining what he calls a new “Singapore dream”.

“As a little red dot, we have no choice but to work hard, stay competitive and keep moving forward... But if we push too hard, we end up overworked, overstressed and downright unhappy,” he says. “So we must find a better balance.”

He adds: “A better balance, where we work hard to secure our living, but also have space to breathe, space to dream and space to live our lives to the fullest. I believe we can make that happen. That’s the new Singapore dream we must create together.”

He speaks about the changes already made in recent years, such as abolishing streaming, enhancing parental leave, giving a boost to mental health and investing in caregivers.

Noting that he has been PM for only a year, he says: “I’ve just started. There is still much more we can do together.”

I was appalled that the PAP had so much more airtime compared to the other participants.

You do know that the WP MPs are poor knockoffs right? Even more incapable than the PAP ones.

Prata Singh is also an ex SAF regular just like generals except he reach Major niah.

What GKY essentially said back then is that the US is gonna keep the tariffs for everyone.

So this taskforce also useless...Cannot make a deal to convince US....

but anyway, we do tax on all imports via GST including from the US, certain imports will still kena excise duties lol....
