Yesterday at industry networking session met a Gen Z girl who is voting in Hero Leong Mun Wai's ward.

Not shocked that she has not heard of Hero Leon's efforts in speaking up for sinkies at all, but nevertheless disappointed.

Hope she does not represent the average voter in WCTJ.
Bro, its common lah. Most people in SG are politically bochup esp SG women..

Why u so shocked??

PAP had too many cock ups in the 5 year prior,

PAP could not even make a single convincing rebuttal to defend themselves.

PAP did not offer anything new to Sinkies, not a single policy with substance

PAP is just threatening Sinkies throughout the entire campaign.

This is my summary of PAP in this GE.

I think all of you who read this summary should just vote PAP out.

WP, PSP and SDP is the medicine that all Sinkies deserve now.

Remember KJ number one quote, on par with LKY level.

Claims that losing ministers won’t weaken Govt are ‘plain and simple’ electioneering: ESM Goh

The opposition’s claims that the Government will not be weakened if it loses ministers, is “plain and simple” electioneering that misleads voters, said Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong.

In a Facebook post yesterday, ESM Goh likened Singapore’s political office-holders to players on a football team.

“If four seasoned members of a football team’s starting 11 are absent, will the team be weaker? According to the opposition, the answer is ‘no’. Because you can use the reserves, they say,” he wrote.

“How can that be? Even with capable substitutes, nothing beats having your first team on the field,” he added.

Demographic shifts, three-way race put Potong Pasir in the spotlight

3cfdd0.png

Potong Pasir, once the smallest single-member constituency, has three different parties vying for it in GE2025 – PAP’s Alex Yeo, Singapore People’s Party’s Williiamson Lee and People’s Alliance for Reform’s Lim Tean.

The transformation is due to new Housing Board developments in the Bidadari estate, which have brought in young families.

Speaking to The Straits Times, the three contenders share their strategy and upcoming plans for the area, should they win.

Yee Jenn Jong on his ‘one last’ return as WP’s East Coast candidate in GE2025

826476.png

Former Non-Constituency MP Yee Jenn Jong has stepped into the political ring for the fourth time in GE2025, for what he says is his final charge.

He was part of the WP team that contested in Marine Parade GRC in the last general election and lost, with 42.26 per cent of the vote.

Speaking to ST, he described his 2025 bid as an “old soldier” returning to the battleground. Quoting a saying by the late US general Douglas MacArthur that goes “Old soldiers never die. They simply fade away”, Mr Yee said: “I’ve never left. I stepped up when called upon.”

When WP chief Pritam Singh asked if he could help prepare the ground in Punggol West SMC, and possibly the whole of Punggol for GE2025, Mr Yee said yes, though he also made it known to the party that he need not run as a candidate.

The 2025 election is different because more people are online and no longer rely only on traditional media. Also in the era of “Got video got talk”, once mistakes are caught on video, people see it for themselves. No amount of narrative can cover it up.

Today, voters judge based on actions, not just branding. The PAP’s “brand” has weakened because many individuals no longer reflect the ground sentiments.

This election is not about controlling the message but it’s about earning real trust from a public that is watching and thinking for themselves.

‘I definitely want to follow in her footsteps’: PAP’s Lee Hui Ying on how veteran Lee Bee Wah inspired her to step up

318cad.jpg

Ms Lee Hui Ying was only 19 when a literal knock on her door kick-started a volunteering journey that has spanned more than 15 years.

Outside her door was former MP and PAP veteran Lee Bee Wah, who was on a round of house visits in the Nee Soon South ward.

“She was very warm and enthusiastic… She asked me, ‘Would you like to be a volunteer in the community?’,” recalled Ms Lee Hui Ying, who is now 36.

She later became a mentee of Ms Lee Bee Wah, who said that the younger Ms Lee “has a bit of Lee Bee Wah in her - (she is) a straight talker, sincere and hard-working”.

In an interview with The Straits Times, Ms Lee Hui Ying, who is contesting in Nee Soon GRC, said of her mentor: “I see her as a role model in how she has tried to go beyond the extra mile to help each and every resident. I definitely want to follow in her footsteps.”
