Final push for Jalan Kayu SMC

With less than 12 hours to the end of the General Election campaigning, WP candidate Andre Low is making one last push to reach out to voters of Jalan Kayu SMC.

After spending his morning canvassing private estates in the single-seat ward, he switched to signing flyers and taking photos with residents at the Fernvale Hawker Centre & Market.

It's the residents, however, who have to wait their turn to interact with Mr Low.

In a snaking queue with more than 30 people was 22-year-old resident Althea Chew, who said she had been waiting since 11am for the WP candidate.

Like others in line, she had seen Mr Low’s social media post announcing he would be in the area today.

“I listened to his rally about needing more transparency in parliament and agreed with him,” said Ms Chew, a first-time voter.
"I really want a photograph with him and his autograph.”

Mr Low told me he was grateful for the encouragement.

“I'm thankful that people can see my sincerity, and I hope that that resonates with most of the voters."

I also asked how he felt about the campaign coming to a close.

Mr Low said he wanted to “keep the positive momentum going”.

“I hope to reiterate to voters the positive message … that we want to work for a better future for Singapore.”

Yet the white still championing him. Trying so hard to bring him back
I think part of the reason is if they don't get him back, it'll be difficult to convince SAF scholars to stand for election next time (SAF scholars may find it too risky).

At least if they succeed to bring him back in, PAP can tell these SAF scholars that they have the fullest backing as evidence by bringing back NCM

Why the need for scholars to stand for election when their solutions textbook based? If any prob the defence seat for him to fill

There're about 5 SAF scholars every cohort and they are the crème-de-la-crème.
Don't deny that some/most of them are smart and it'll be a waste to just cut them out
Some have the heart and can be good Ministers in the making.
But others (like NCM) are ... haiz
In fact, his brothers Ng Chee Khern and Ng Chee Peng would make good Ministers. (both are humble, so unlike NCM)

The character, the passion and the heart are important.

I feel so bad for this ex-teacher. This NCM is so arrogant to mistreat someone in public this way. I wonder who or what gives him such audacity. Truly disgusted and should not be allowed to return!
Maybe can ask LHL and LW, what's the behaviour of minister should be?

i can vouch for it too.

CSS was well liked.
From my personal interactions with NCM, he seems arrogant.
Hope he is capable. To make up for his arrogance. He did some good work in NTUC, helped some people. Wish him all the best, or else he is better off as a CEO rather than politician.

Yes, he probably is better off as a CEO rather than politician... at least lesser people suffer from his condescending behaviour 😅

The pic shows many young voters, around Andre's age. JK is SK West, younger than SKE, even younger than Punggol. The swing votes shd be high.
Will LHL (Yes to NCM) win or LW win in JK?
