Can someone from Hyperspeed and Gamer plan test this for me
go to this site and select AU Server and get back to me with the latency? i wanna see if it's my side issue (remember to turn off your VPN for testing if you are using it)

they have a really funny way of doing this "WoW game server" ping test, which is to... make a HTTP request to https://dynamodb.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/.

you could probably just use something like https://bgp.he.net/traceroute/ with the appropriate probe(s) on AS56300 to see what the RTT you'd get on Hyperspeed vs Gamer

M1 has PNI with AWS giving 95ms of latency. VQ ping around 95ms also.

Bash:

the reason the site reports an additional ~30ms over actual RTT is because it's making HTTP requests. there's additional overhead that is not related to your network at all

in fact you could probably point dynamodb.ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com to a local HTTPS server, and you'd still see 30ms even though actual RTT is sub-0.5ms

if 95ms is not what you're expecting to see, then perhaps consider that WoW servers might not actually be hosted on AWS? so what the website is telling you is entirely pointless

and maybe try one of these addresses instead. or whatever https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Americas_region_realm_list_by_datacenter#Australia

My myrepublic contract is ending. can I ask, when recontracting, do they make you pay a reinstallation fee? In the past, the first time I had to pay this, then during my second recontract I again had to but I called in and they said they'd waive it out o goodwill. Nowadays is there still this one-time reinstallation fee for renewal of contraats?

Hmm, I just signed up for MR but accidentally clicked off the Order Confirmation page (it was already confirmed but I never copied down the order ID) and they didn't send me order confirmation email. Should be fine right?

It's not supposed to light up according to the myRepublic Technician

MyRepublic's backend does not transmit that particular signal for the internet light to light up. Other ISPs around the world may have that implementation, just not myRepublic.

Most important is whether your PON light stays lit, or if it turns red.

Hi guys, have a question. Am running on the Ultra 3Gbps plan, connection is direct from the Nokia ONT to my PC. Am not getting full bandwidth on speedtests. My download speed is 1 Gbps MAX, upload speed is the full 3 Gbps. Any idea why?

Am using a Mellanox ConnectX-3 PCI-e Card connected to a x16 slot receiving x4 bandwidth, LAN cable runs from the ONT to a China HYNX RJ45 to SFP+ module.

Windows detects the connection as a 10Gbps capable link.

1. Try a few things like below first.
1) Make sure you use OOkla SpeedTest app and not browser.

2)Try to test at another time.

3) Disable 3rd Antivirus ot other 3rd party security applications to see if that helps. IMHO they are virus by themselves under Windows.

4) Get a cheap UGreen USB 3 to 2.5G adapter and see if you can get better download speed.

2. If still got the same issue, boot into a live Linux session with a USB Flash Drive or USB SSD and see if you get different speed or not.
