Dogs are descendants of wolves. They were selectively bred over thousands of years to be domesticated for human companionship. Why would you want to eat them? Unless you yearn for dog meat?

True. Dogs are domesticated not just for companionship but also as assistants. I do not eat dog. I have kept some as pets before. The point I was making is that it is not immoral or unethical to eat dogs. We do not eat them not because it is immoral or unethical but rather because of social convention. Their usefulness as companions and helpers outweigh their usefulness as meat as they have very little nutritional value.

Western civilisation were still hunting societies when Asian societies had progressed onto to agrarian models tat farms and no longer rely on hunting.

I beg to differ. Humans are omnivores, so it's natural for us to eat meat. But dogs are humans best friend, only the worst human will eat dogs, and karma will strike upon them sooner or later.

It's a culture that dogs are widely adopted as pets. Pigs, pigeons, cow's, chickens are all life. Karma will strike regardless of which u eat.
