You only need chef knife, santoku knife, paring knife, chinese chef knife, cleaver.

If want to buy a complete block set Western block set get one with chef knife, slicing knife, paring knife utility knife, bread knife, sharpening steel, scissors.

Chinese block set get one with chinese chef knife, cleaver, santoku knife paring knife sharpening steel, scissors.
