I have 4 zym lines, of which 2 have this same issue if iMessage not working after porting over. Tried whatever I can find over the internet, including deleting and rekeying in phone number etc. just don’t work.
Finally, after waiting for few days, magically it's connected to my ported number. For my 2nd line my family member is using, also cannot. So I just wait out… until it auto fixes.
Good to know I'm not the only one, till now it's still stuck at the spinning wheel. Iphone prompts to turn on iMessage every now and then but still doesn't get activated.

I also encountered the same issue in China recently. Manually selecting the operator solved the problem and everything was good for the rest of the trip.

iMessage indeed will take a while to be activated. Encountered a few times on one of my ZYM lines, was trying to sync/forward messages to a few iPhones tied to the same Apple ID/Account. Hence I'll try not to remove the SIM card for any reason once iMessage is successfully activated.

FYI the activation is not FOC but costs just less than 20cents. Just don't be alarmed if you see your bill amount looking different from past months.

Currently in China now. Was able to connect to China Unicom in Shanghai.
Went to 哈尔滨 and still able to connect to China Unicom. Half way to 内蒙古, suddenly cannot connect to China Unicom or China Telecom.. Can only connect to CMCC which is useless cos cannot even login to HWZ.
Same thing happens to my wife.. Both of us cannot connect (both using S25U).
The funny thing is, my MIL, can connect to China Unicom (using redmi pro10).

Has anyone faced the same problem?

I've restart the phone, took out sim n reinsert sim.. But still cannot connect.

Bought a 2GB estimate to tahan first..

tried to WhatsApp zym since morning till now no reply. silly

anyone has clue if I can port to zym on a day while I am overseas? I don't mind doing so as I don't not want to exceed the cycle of my current telco and need not pay additional month sub.

I don't see why not.
The potential issue is you won't be able to get a physical sim unless you have someone ship it to you.
And if there is any issue, you might end up having no connection until you are back in SG.

I am definitely picking up my Sim card first, just that the date that I am porting I am in middle of my holiday trip.

in past some other times (can't remember what telco(s), I've been told to avoid doing so while overseas because of 1) porting to be done while on home network (SG) or 2) simple reasoning by them saying anything wrong with porting I will end up with no network on both Sim cards. so just wondering nowadays zym side ok anot or someone did so overseas. so far haven't found any with dp that ported to zym when overseas.

Just to check. My current plan is this and I'm going Indonesia next week. The roaming data will use the 600gb? Thanks
