Ian Fang's mum says her son didn't give underaged girl STI & has 'proof'
The victim had contracted HPV.
Fang Peinian, the mother of former Mediacorp actor Ian Fang, claimed that her son did not give his underage victim a sexually-transmitted infection.
She added that they have "proof", but did not specify what this might be, according to a
CNA video.
"[There were] some inaccurate reports, we have proof... regarding sexually-transmitted infections. We don't have them, we have proof," she told reporters.
The 35-year-old appeared at the State Courts on Jun. 16 to surrender himself for his 40-month jail sentence.
He bowed to the media, with his mother by his side.
“I definitely will try my best to be a better person, a better version of myself. It is an expensive and very huge mistake that I need to pay off," he said.
Underage sex
The Singapore permanent resident was convicted on May 19 of sexual offences with a minor.
He was 34 years old when he met the girl, then 15, at an entertainment event in 2024.
On five occasions, Ian Fang had unprotected sex with the teen.
She was later diagnosed with the human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually-transmitted infection, reported
8world.
In a media interview after his conviction, the girl's mother blamed Ian Fang for the disease, and said it had been her "first time".
"He ruined my daughter's life, and infected her with a sexually-transmitted disease," she said.
"My daughter's first time should be with a man who truly loves her — not to such a scumbag, such trash, such an animal, such a wolf in sheep's clothing!"
