The fellow cycle into a live-firing area to find out if his spandex suit is bulletproof?

caught the news 5 report on this incident just
3 of the weapons usually used from SAF, its effective range only from 600m to 800m

for this very bullet to travel more than 2KM, it could have had a great ricochet before it hit the unfortunate target :s22:

hands up, which soldier did that bobo shot? :s11:
or should he be credited for the ability to shoot an enemy that far? :s22:

* on a side note of no importance:

the Rachel zeh zeh covering the news report, her blouse was wet w/ sweat all over
those that had missed the report [not the zeh zeh], might catch it again later on CNA news at 10pm

:spin:

A 42-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound about two kilometres away from a live-firing activity conducted by the Singapore Armed Forces yesterday. The police said the man was cycling with his friends near the Nee Soon 500m Open Range, a restricted area that the public does not have access to.

He is in a stable condition at the National University Hospital. Under the Military Manoeuvres Act, the public is not allowed to enter gazetted areas meant for live-firing exercises. Investigations are ongoing and foul play is not suspected. Nee Soon range has suspended live-firing activities as a precautionary measure. Rachel Teng reports.

I don't think they'd go through the trouble of making range rounds and combat rounds separately. Afterall, live firing is for realism. Put less charge, the ballistics would be slightly different.
At least during my time, we can feel the difference.

Last time I park my boat north of 2nd causeway near the murai reservoir, fishing there then got chased away by nsf boi boi in assault boats heheh I ever did live firing at LCK area. I think got live cctv camera there, also around sudong/pawai. They should install cameras at the seletar/pierce reservoir but I'm sure they have so someone's gonna kena.

By right is also MINDEF fault. Entry points to the live firing restricted areas should be manned to prevent unlawful entry on the day of exercise, from as early as 7am (or something like that) to end of exercise. Unless the cyclist gang had entered the area in the early wee hours or via jungle bashing
this hard to control. even LCK, got anglers, motorbiker go inside live firing area. witness it countless times.
