Amy Khor is right on rental does not affect food price. Home-based cafe without the need to pay rental also charge u $4.50 for latte

The coffee beans and Matcha Powder, etc. they using probably is those Starbucks-kind one.

Think they got no economies of scale to offer cheaper than those chain stalls.

After all these kind of beveragee require all those equipments and tools, etc.

Unless you want them to sell normal kopi like those coffee shops kind, then will be cheaper. Since just brew the beans and just pour via the sock.

Think the customers they have, too little to recover back on the equipment and tools, etc. + the maintenance ba. After all, HDB so small.

Those landed properties home-cafes probably sell abit cheaper, because they got enough space to accommodate more customers.

I really doubt footfall is good for these home based business. Unless the coffee is super value for money, no one will travel to a ulu place just to buy one coffee.

Gahment don’t dare to clamp down on all these home-based FNB because they have no actionable plans to bring down rentals, they can’t control inflation

Now just lie low keep quiet, hope no one notices they’re intentionally keeping both eyes closed to illegal activities

Just like COE, food delivery and PMDs on roads
