They should check their SCDF, SPF and SAF camps for vapes too. :o
Not sure if HSA has jurisdiction to conduct checks in camps. But then the MP or provost units for the respective uniform groups should be able to conduct the checks.

News should put big on how the 19yrs old became zombie alike and jumped down
How a young adult strangled his mother after taking the vape

and

most importantly this news

https://www.straitstimes.com/singap...spected-kpod-peddlers-nabbed-in-bishan-yishun

The driver attempted to drive away n officers still have to get into the car

they put their lives at risks
I think their efforts must be recognized by govt

same as those that put their lives at risks while doing similar crackdown or checks

then punish drivers that drove away in dangerous manners + send those caught vaping to show them the real danger of vaping like suicide etc

and of course punish gao gao

ST Summary
  • A Singaporean man, James Wong Jun Jie, was jailed for two weeks for smuggling vapes from Johor Bahru into Singapore in September 2024.
  • Wong was caught at Woodlands Checkpoint with over 1,800 vapes and pods hidden in his car, and more were found at his home.
  • Judge Wong Li Tein deemed community-based sentences unsuitable due to the seriousness of vaping in Singapore.
Lets analyse:
3rd sentence - seriousness of vaping but only 2 weeks?
2nd sentence - over 1800 vapes and pods + more at home ==> potentially can harm a lot lot more people

Now come to the 1st sentence - September 2024 but only reported now... hmmm

Most likely he struck a deal with the officers to expose and catch more of the 'buyer' and 'sellers' down the chain, thats why so lenient 2 weeks, and the case only reported almost a year after getting caught.

Possible?
You watched too much TVB and HK dramas... You think this is 无间道?? If he does cooperate we won't be seeing this two weeks sentence appearing so soon....

The problem is not the vape. it the stuff they put into the pods.
Just like you can't ban a knife due to it has killed someone before.
Or cigarette which cause people to have cancer and die before, direct or indirectly.
Everything has 2 sided. same as drugs. no one force anyone to take it. it a personal choice.

Vaping is fully prohibited in Singapore. This means the importation, sale, purchase, possession, and use of e-cigarettes, vape pens, and related accessories are banned under the Tobacco (Control of Advertisements and Sale) Act. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) enforces these regulations, with penalties including fines and potential imprisonment.

Government looking at enhancing laws around vaping to tackle issue of drug-laced vapes in Singapore

https://www.straitstimes.com/singap...reased-detection-of-drug-laced-vapes-in-spore
In April, a 13-year-old girl was detained after she was spotted
behaving erratically outside the State Courts
while puffing on an e-cigarette. A subsequent raid of her home found that she had an etomidate-laced device, also known as a Kpod, in her possession.

Easiest is amend law death penalty for import/sale of vape and 10 years jail for vaping.
death penalty for users got what use? so many decades already problem still there. instead hang the custom officers who are linked to imported drugs found during arrests

Now the drug peddlers will lock their car doors at all times. Or they will simply stop all face meets and rely on drop-offs.

Personally I don’t think jumping into the car is such a great move, there are unknown threats.
