The feeling of iin such situation is terrible, you feel betrayal, you feel lousy, you feel fook,.

I do have friends I kept in touch after I left the company... Then again, only family sticks.

Becoz livelihood is important than friendship.

There are genuine ppl but mostly selfish one. You may think they helped u, sacrifice for u but its all for maintaining good relationship to exchange favors when needed. When u become a threat, they will kick u out with no hesitation.

Maybe you invested too much. Last time I find attachment of feelings, friends, colleagues even siblings, despite the amount of effort you put in. Not use de. Very soon will be forgotten. So there is a tough period I went through questioning myself. Later I realise they are just a supporting role in my life. I heard each one of them is from my prev life either coming to claim a debt or return it. I intend to not get entangled too much. Good for me, Good for them. Now I have learn to not let my emotions wander too far. Maintaining neutral is peace. Even when ppl are screaming in your face.

when you young, just started out to work, you easily feel other ppl are good to you

in reality, all are good until you have conflict of interest. there is no friend at work. those u started out gossip together, one day will use what you said against you. if anyone reading this still young, dont 'talk heart' with working people and dont friend

as you age, you rather just go office, do your stuff, then go home.

one of the reason u are more likely to have buddy from outside or those since school, because u dont work at the same place together.

You believe so? I can tell you , I have many nice colleagues . Sometimes havng lunch together. This are all ralationship building for work only. This are all very superficial look that you saw in facebook posting.

So you don't have to macam jelly them. When the tide turns, all these will disappear in no time. I have been maintaining neutral mostly. Just keep your value useful to the boss, not to your colleagues. This will help to reduce energy draining. After work, is all family. Full stop.

The true value of ANY relationship is only revealed when self interests are at stake. That is all there is to it.

I think always manage expectations of oneself esp colleagues whom we treat as work friends or potential to be pals outside of work (common topics, hobbies etc). The expectations can be as minor as waiting for u to clear somelittle work before heading out for lunch together, to expecting him or her to defend u when behind u someone told him/her that u did something against coy rules which u didnt.

we r all humans, with expectations and emotions.
