"

Three Sengkang Green Primary 3 students suspended after threatening to kill classmate and her family"

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/sin...ying-death-threats-students-suspended-5298671

The parent of the victim mentioned she went through most of the standard protocol over 6 months of;

1) reporting the incident to the form teacher,

2) reporting the incident to the principal

3) reporting to the police,

4) Asked MP for help.

Nothing was done, and the victim continues to get bullied in school.

It was when the victim's parents posted on social media, circulated in EDMW, and incident was eventually picked up by ShinMin before the school took action.

This is not the first, nor will it be the last, that relevant authorities only take action when faced with social media pressure.

It begs the question, how does Singapore system work?

Up for discussion.

Just go social media straightaway. Then d authorities will take notice once it goes viral. N then they'll try to do dmg control to make themselves look good n got do their best to help to resolve d issues.

Best is they'll try to make themselves look like they got do work n they care.

Tats how things work now.

Yah so must suspend long enough for them to repeat primary 3. Repeat primary 3 is karma to the bullies and their parents. Is like why send people to prison, they no need to work got government feed but the consequence is after release will have criminal record that hurt their prospects.
Maybe put a blacklist in their education records so future employers will have additional precautions during the hiring process..

Write to Daddy Wong directly... If it's in sengkang, he should be quite keen to help.

If the bullies' parents don't even dare to meet the victim's parents to sort this out.. I feel the parents really got some problem one lol...
I think a lot of modern parents simply outsource parenting to schools, to maid and to ipad etc....

When the school is choosing to make ambiguous statements? ROFL... the bullying not just a few days but over a few months!!?

At least the mum had proved that bullying taken place and had tried to report to the school, with screenshot and photos etc. And other than the fact the she herself mention the daughter told her she asked them to shut up, nothing else was mentioned by the school or by the boys parents.

So I'm not sure what kind of fact/opinion are u talking about because if the school was able to have settled the issue, or the boys parents was able to discipline their children, the mum wouldn't have to make a public announcement about it?

Don't forget the fact is that the family even received death threat, from P3 "children"? And despite after initial report of the bully by the parent to the school, the school/teacher did not change the seat of the gal? If the gal herself opt not to change seat then it's her choice but the fact is that she wants to change, the teacher/school did not make it happen?
Firstly, I'm not absolving the boys of any wrongdoings. What I actually want to put across is that when the school says the girl also have done something wrong, things maybe not really simple.

Whether they have settled the issue or not it's not what I can decide, so whatever I say wouldn't change any actions. And that actually would apply to everyone here, unless someone here is actually the school principal of the school or higher ups in MOE and they decide to act on public opinion.

Secondly, since death threats are made, obviously it's a police case by now, although the perpetrators are kids aged 9, and that means the police are not going to take immediate action like earlier posts in the thread regarding minimum age of prosecution. If police case, the school probably also cannot disclose any more details.

Our Minister of Law Shanmugan was also ambiguous in his statement regarding the cyber attacks.

See here --> https://www.mha.gov.sg/mediaroom/sp...sidelines-of-a-community-event-in-chong-pang/

Question: Mandiant actually linked UNC3886 to China. Are we afraid of some retaliation if we call them out?

Minister: No I think that’s speculative. What Mandiant does is what Mandiant does. As far as the Singapore Government is concerned, we can say we are confident that it is this particular organisation. Who they are linked to, and how they operate, is not something I want to go into.
This is how govt agencies speak to the media. So i think the school is just following govt's SOP.

Lastly, this matter doesn't concern me. So as a passerby, I'll just choose to sit back and watch the drama unfold. No need to get too upset over matters that doesn't concern me. And i suggest everyone here also relax and just watch the drama. No need to go in-depth and then get upset when others don't agree with your POV.

Nowadays is either social media or email to PMO office !

Wouldn't PMO just re-direct letter to the relevant constituency MP or Minister (in this case Education), and the result will be to "continue to monitor" ?

Anybody can post but not all posting go viral.
Some posts may get backlash as well.

What will be the sure-fire formula to get social media go viral with a favourable outcome?

Every story naturally has a victim, but what storyline makes the story go viral?

Trying to collate knowledge for all to learn in case anyone need social media help to highlight their plight.
