Singapore will never ever have an "earthquake". Because if it does, it will be term as "Earth movement", just like we do not have floods but has ponding and tank crashing into traffic light becomes "come into contact with"
Correct term is tremor. News always reported ground shakes caused by earthquake in sumatra as tremors.

I seriously wonder what cause the quake… I don’t think there fault line there…
  • Fault Line Context: The earthquake occurred in an area associated with known fault zones in Peninsular Malaysia. The Mersing Fault Zone and Ma Okil Fault Zone are recognized as potentially active strike-slip faults in Johor. While the region is not located within the Pacific Ring of Fire, which is prone to major seismic events, historical records show that intraplate earthquakes—those occurring within a tectonic plate—can happen in Malaysia. The 1922 Johor earthquakes, which registered magnitudes of 5.4 and 5.0, are examples of such intraplate seismicity. Although the three main fault lines in Peninsular Malaysia (Bokbak, Bentong-Raub, and Bebir) are generally considered non-active, small-scale tremors have been recorded in areas like Pahang and Terengganu, possibly due to stress points or fluid release.

real or fake news?

While Malaysia is located outside the Pacific Ring of Fire, the country is not completely immune to the risk of earthquakes, said one expert.

The Institute of Geology Malaysia’s president Abd Rasid Jaapar told Bernama in March this year that while Malaysia is not situated along the collision zone of major tectonic plates, several minor tremors have been recorded in certain areas over recent decades.

"Earthquakes are unpredictable in both location and magnitude. For instance, Bukit Tinggi once experienced a 3.8-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale. However, at present, there is no significant earthquake risk in Peninsular Malaysia," he said.
