If one time payment yes it is about $3400 for 5 yrs warranty and consumables. This LG careship is where LG technician will come down your house type every 6 months.

Sure if u can source for 1 from Malaysia and are comfortable with the 1 yr warranty if any, go ahead. I’m just sharing for local context.

Locally 518 model retail at $2099. So if one wanted to buy locally, not a bad choice to go for LG subscribe. The minimum 3 yrs cost is $3060 if it is self care(with 3 yrs warranty and consumables which u replace yourself).


So for extra of about $1000, u get 2 more years of warranty and consumables. For a machine that cost $2099, some may feel it is worth it to top up for another 2 years.

**Assuming the filters cost $200 per year, the cost for the filters for 2nd and 3rd year will be 200x2=$400. $1000-400= $600(for 2nd and 3rd year warranty)

Mine 1 year 2 months old, machine last repaired on Apr, recently also notice fan louder, can be heard from outside kitchen, but could be because I don't really clean the back so maybe dusty. The fan always run 24/7.

I was initially considering to buy Livingcare, Happie etc. I pulled handbrake because Happie suddenly wants to increase the price citing every year they may adjust the price etc. then talk a lot of BS with me saying they got endorsements. But j the end I was quite heng as I bite the bullet to order LG. Comparing a world class brands to all these SG brands, the decision was a no brainer. Furthermore, LG at a cheaper price compared to Livingcare and Happie? I will be an idiot if I go for unknown brands at higher cost right?

moi house ish RO system + 7-stage water purifier. mixing the 2 waters can control what TDS level one requires and ensures water is still alkaline.
price of both ish prolly less than 10% of the cost of simi water system here.
both systems filters dirt cheap.
not sure why people pay thousands for water system.

Definitely base on volume.

If you don't use then no need to change at all.

volume can only determine so much, bacteria still growth even if you don't use it much.

If time is fixed and let say 3month, a 500l of water dispensed will make filter dirtier than 10l of water dispensed.

similar if both filter dispensed 10l, one is 3 months, 1 is 3 days, which one dirtier or more bacteria?
