Restricted from accessing even their own bank accounts and singpass? Then how those people going to live? I get the intention but that's practically asking them to live off the grid like a caveman since nearly everything requires digital, even salary is credited into account. I assume that they would at least still be allowed to withdraw cash with permission from the authorities.

Edit:

For context. My concern is whether the restriction means their own legit bank account totally cannot touch (means like frozen, cannot withdraw anything AT ALL, not even ATM or physically over the counter) or whether can still withdraw but with permission from the authorities each time they want to do so. It's not concern for scammers but concern for their children or dependents who rely on the account (which contains the person's legit life savings) for their daily needs. If they are still able to withdraw by getting permission, I have no issue with it. I agree with restrictions, only question is to what extent.

wow, to implement such draconian measures would only indicate that scams must be really prevalent here.
believe it has something to do with our world class education system
world class but never teach how to detect scams

It's not about being soft. Rather, it's whether it's practical. Like I said, if they are still able to withdraw at least some money with permission from the authorities, then I don't see any issue with it.

Want to be tough, should jail them minimum 2 years instead.

SINGAPORE – From October, those who have been warned, prosecuted, convicted or are under investigation for mule-related offences may be barred from registering new phone lines, and restricted from accessing banking and national authentication services.

Ya good, if u have strict law, even if u somehow have a few who can't think, but is enough to warn n scare the rest of potential scam mule. It's smart also, cause phone line, u mian qiang still can find someone to make.. but banking n other access is going to make them think twice.
