But he added that any companies building manufacturing plants in the U.S. will be exempt from the tariffs, specifying that the companies needed to have at least broken ground or started constructing U.S. facilities.
Wait for the details to come out. Trump is just giving a short message that doesn't capture the nuances.
He's not that foolish to let US companies easily skip the 100% tariff on importing to US.

If PAP had the iron in them to end their reliance on MNC outsourcing, it wouldn't have been a problem.

Guys, this is our dream. It is the end the Singapore's model of economy on MNC outsourcing.
Kill the cancerous goose in the Singapore economy.
For the first time, now the Singapore govt needs to rethink their policies on manpower and education. If not for Trump, the current leaders will just sit on their asses and continue with their reliance on MNC outsourcing to Singapore.

they always go out give subsidies to mnc then offer land at tuas south for pharma open factories.

Revamp the education system to create our own startups that will become the future MNCs.
The current education system is wasting years of time to train students to work for others. Zero integration with starting own companies. This includes the two NS years.

Wah, the 100% tariff on pharmaceuticals will really hurt SG and could cause a recession

Pharmaceutical companies will move production to US for the US market

4 more years only. The next US president will denounce all Trump’s nonsense policies
