Pls understand that sg isn’t unpatriotic to move to spend in jb. We are being forced to!

Actually I think there is no need to worry about Sinkies not spending in SG. Plenty of wealthy peeps are happy to spend here and plenty of money going around in Singapore. I think a lot of Sinkies are quite flushed if you ask me and we also attract a lot of high net worth individuals from overseas.

All the doom and gloom news and what F&B shut down is just market correction.

Those who go JB to spend every weekend are peanuts to the govt in the grand scheme of things. That's why I do not feel a single shred of guilt for being unpatriotic

Nah, most people cannot be bothered to fly from Senai if there is no base in JB. I can understand the novelty once or twice for fun without any children or seniors in tow. I may try it one of these days !

Changi is not called an international hub for nothing.
One more place I'd like to visit is that airport.

🚍✨ 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞-𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐮𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐁 𝐂𝐈𝐐 – 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟐𝟐 𝐎𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

In line with the announcement made by YB Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, Chairman of the Johor Public Works, Transportation, Infrastructure and Communications Committee, to reduce congestion in the bus waiting area at JB CIQ (Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Singapore-bound), we will implement a single-lane queue system. As a result, seat-preference queues will be discontinued effective 22 October 2025.
For a smoother journey, we encourage everyone to go cashless.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Aago endorses it ! Will try to fly to KL from there one of these days.

Wealthy Sinkies eat pau at all the xxx dynasty and xxx treasure branches , peasants like me can only afford BOD takeaway. :( Not sure if that's winning.

After dinner at the basement of Sutera Mall, I thought of getting some mini charsiew bao from BOD but ended up with nyonya kueh2 from a few stalls away.

Speaking of flying via JB ...

Apparently, there are a lot of Chinese tour groups from China who travel into Singapore via KL because of cheaper fares. Someone shared their experience with me when I was in China not too long ago, and omg the route verges on a covert escape plan. :s13:

1) Flight transfer domestically to a larger Chinese city
2) Large Chinese city fly into KL
3) Take coach from KL - JB (9-10 hours depending on traffic and some breaks in between)
4) JB - SG custom
5) Finally arrive in SG

They stay for 5-6 days and then return via the same route back to KL > China.

Despite the route, she said everyone loves Singapore ! I guessed we still have lots of things to offer.

I asked if they got the chance to hang out at JB and they said no.

What is this nonya kueh kueh shop ? In the basement too ? good ?

Sounds like you are also a peasant like me, otherwise you would be eating Bengawan solo in Singapore. ;)

long time never go jiak Orh Chien, so today went to eat,

auntie say maybe 6 months will finish the new paving of the road and rebuild the drainage system. she say the people in charge want to paint murals in the back alley

they don't like the temporary location, in the sun during noon time.

chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.causewaylink.com.my/CBS_Bus_Timing_Final.pdf

Am I correct to assume that the last bus leaving Perling mall is at 9:30pm ?

Has anyone taken any last bus from Perling Mall before ?

Is it safe to say it is unsafe to be hanging around the area for too long ?

Looks like all it takes is one spark to ignite the entire row ? 😅

u never light it off before?

use lighter, need to burn a while the green tip, i use sparkler to quick light a few at once :geek:

a spark won't do anything

@Habrosus that day u asked for nasi kerapu

Looks like I really have to check out that area, as this is like the 3rd vid I've seen of food that caught my attention. I've not even visited that mall. :o

Now I wonder if that Nasi Kerabu stall in JBCC is still there too. :lick:

Lynns Food & Beverage and yes, in the basement. I used to go there for light food while waiting for the next bus, had their chicken rice and IIRC dried Mee Siam that have set options that included kueh2. From then it's either been BOD or kueh2 for snacks.

Back home these days not easy to find stalls with decent variety of kueh2 that are not too sweet without having to travel, or they don't taste right somehow. I don't eat kueh2 very often, but these you might want to give a shot too.

We used a gas lighter, with a long neck where our mom used to light their gas stove

To take the last bus is risky as it all depended on the driver on duty. Best to take second last bus.

Once I missed the last CW bus for Newton as the driver took off earlier than scheduled.
