Thanks for the recommend.. Hmm.. ista .. okok.. i will go my nearby LFS to check if they carry something like this.

ya lor.. I want less messy, than my wife wont KBKP.. than if i use direct hose.. she dont "feel" i use alot of water.. LOL.. if carry by pails of water.. she later say my hobby use alot water.. KBKP again..

3ft tank.. if empty is about 180L... With hardscape in , also about 140L aga aga..

1st week of cycle if really go by the book is daily 50% water change sia.. Still quite alot of water use..
Im thinking of the Dark start method For the 1st and 2nd week.. (No light and no plant and no fish. just filter on and cover tank to be dark with no water change for 2 week)

than from 3rd week onward do 1 x full water change and start planting and do every 2D water change 50% for 1 week.
Than 4th week do water change 1 week once ( or depend when i do water parameter check how is the reading)

Live stock will only go in once i check water parameter are good.. (ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitratehave some reading above 5ppm)
ista brand got some hose clamp to side of tank...then get 1/2 inch hose with quick release connector to ur kitchen tap. (i link to my toilet tap)

Keep fish most impt change water make it easier for urself and less messy for home, so spouse wont niam.

but 3,1.5,1.5 okay la not alot of water, just that if ur tank high and pail small pour in...jin mafan one ur scape at the start will gg

Yup, i currently have a 1 year old tank. 45cm x 30cm x 30cm..
I do plan to take maybe 1/3 of the media and place into the new tank filter canister..
But since the 45cm canister is pretty small.. dunno how much can help as for the new tank canister i bought is pretty huge.. (Oase biomaster 600)

Still yet to purchase tank, substrate and lights..
So likely i will slowly purchase and setup.. not in a hurry..

doesn't matter.. the bb will multiply one. just be patient. then you add a tester fish to see if everything is ok after a week or so.

If I am traveling away for a week, and I can only set timer to turn on one device for 10 hours daily. Would you recommend to have the lamp, or sponge filter?
It's a small 10L tank with 2 female guppies and x number of few weeks old fries, and some anacharies floating in the water.

Filter should be running 24/7

My shrimp tank got mozzie larvae.
How do I get rid of them.
I don't want the option of getting fish.
They will eat the baby shrimp

By right, if your water surface have sufficient agitation, should not see mozzie larvae.
But too high surface agitation might not be good for shrimp tank, cause meaning high current flow.
You can consider making a DIY insect screen cover for your shrimp tank, should help and of quite minimal cost

White clouds and the mini rasboras species should be as baby shrimp safe as can be. Not 100% of course. Plus hiding places for the fry.

So far my tank has Neocardina shrimps and Tiger endlers..
They are doing well together. the Shrimps are still giving birth to baby shrimps..

PS: Planted tank with carpet plant for the shrimps babies to hide.
