So I hope to take a bus to lower peak tram, to maximise our time & reduce his fatigue.

hi just sharing my experience in hong kong.

it is a nice place to be in to experience their culture and life. interesting habits like washing their utensils in tea can be seen. overall i had a good time there but the night markets like temple street and ladies market didn't seem to interest me. It is just like a normal night market like bugis street or KL's chinatown street. nothing to shout about or expect. Kind of disappointed about that. shopping is plenty and usually those big brand stuff which cost almost the same as in singapore. so unless you want to beat the crowd in SG or get designs that are not available here, i suggest you make your purchase in singapore.. local brands like g2000 is much cheaper.. citygate is a must go eventhough it is situated far from mainland. it is worth the long trip.

sightseeing can be done at the Peak or the giant buddha. try the peak tram and ngong ping 360 cable car for single ride. the return trip can be done by bus. it is much cheaper and you get to experience different views and kind of transports. must try the crystal cable car with transparent bottom. it is just a few bucks more.

get a map from your hotel if it has one. pretty handy if you lose your way. keep the weather in check as a rainy day may spoil your trip there. however the outdoor part can be easily replaced by indoor shopping.

Just came back 2 days ago. Reached HK on 28 Apr the weather is superb, about 22-24 degree, on sat when we depart, the temp is abt 26-28 degree, the only day i sweat during my 5D4N :). According to my hongkie friend, the weather now should be ard 26-28 degree but maybe because of climate warming, our 1st few day is expectational. Also there is a warm front hitting Philippines so the weather will change to windy these few days.

Omg, i love this thread. Thumbs up!
But i have a few accumulated enquiries from reading this thread. Hope there are kind souls out there to help me ..

1) Someone mentioned abt bus E23 from Jordan to Tung Chung. Any idea how long is the journey?

2) As it is my return trip to the peak, i intend to take the peak tram up. I read somewhere about walking the Lugard Road nature walk around the peak. (Apparently, i can either choose to walk down or end the walk back at the Peak, correct me if im wrong) and then intending to take the green minibus 1 back down to Lan Kwai Fong area. How long will the green minibus journey take? And is it dangerous!? =X iirc, it is supposed to be like initial-d so i thought abt the dangers. Abit "kiasi" but yea.. =X Not sure if its suitable for my parents who is coming along as well. If it is not recommended, then i might just take the peak tram down as well...

3) I heard alot of rave about Tao Heung - Dimsum. ANd i went to the webbie, and it seems that there are a couple of restaurants under this Tao Heung Group. so which is the one tt i should visit? Tao Heung? or Tao Heung 88 ? any preferred branches? or is it more or less the same? =D

4) any recommendations for steamboat eating places?

Why don;t you consider taking MTR from Jordan to Tung Chung? It only takes around 35 mins.
