How many times of Driving Tests (TP) you took to pass?

20km/h in circuit shld be fine. dun think got such thing as too slow in circuit one. mayb u r just unlucky to get tt tester. i rem i also did arnd tt range 20-25km/h in circuit. tester also never say too slow or wad.

ya i thought so too..unlucky is the word for me that day my friend who took sch lessons also surprised at that remark from tester. i confided with another friend who also took pte. she passed on 2nd attempt and coincidentally we may have gotten the same 1st tester. (surname is the same too) she said she was the last one out of the testing room and i was too. and the tester already said she was slow when she just move out from the parking lot to start the test. ;0 i was given the same reaction too !

and i just remembered it was almost 4pm when i started the test (actual test time 345pm) so left abt 15mins or so to complete everything. maybe thats why he said i was slow..maybe he was actually trying to "make up" for his lateness or something..i dont know..

haiz..just my luck. hopefully wont get the same tester again. waste my $$$ for that unjustice15mins. they think its easy for us to come out with the money for the driving lessons/tests..

can anyone share their speed limit in circuit during test ? i'mstill not satisfied on how he judged my speed is too slow..

Imo, the speed limit in circuit during test should be 20-25km/h which is at max of gear 2. If u go beyond that, i guess most TP testers will ask u to slow down. For straight roads inside the circuit try to change up to gear 2 asap, and when u about to make a turn or enter an area in the circuit, change to gear 1 and use half clutch control and abit acceleration to move along the circuit..
Hope you get luckier for ur next test..safety first always.. rem to check blindspot.

And if you are using your private instructor car, do you have to wait at the waiting room etc?
Are there any admin stuff to be done like filling up forms or etc?
And if there is a warm-up, does it start at 3.45pm or before that?
Warmup is where the tester sits next to your right? Will he give you any advices if you make any mistake?

sorry i didnt say that i'm learning auto. but anyway your advice may benefit those learning manual though. but actually the tester was saying i was driving slow not fast.

There's 2 time. Warm up and test time.

U need to report on warm up time. Once there, u do a quick warm up lesson(much like ur normal practical lesson) with a random instructor. If im right it's just ard the circuit and one round outside the road and that's it.

After that u will head to a small room along with other testees to wait for ur tester to call u ard the test time.

ya but for private your warm up session is with your private instructor which starts about 1hr before your actual test time. your pte instructor will let you know what to do and send you up to the test room where you wait for the tester.

must be there before test time coz you need to wait for the chosen tester to call your name. and if unlucky like me who is called last and start test abt 10mins after and in the end tester rushed you like what..say you slow etc hahaha..i still cannot get over my 1st tp test. ;p

I am not sure if its my warm up or not.
If its my warm up, how do I know where to meet that random instructor?

Do i have to inform anybody that I am using my instructor's car?

you dont need to inform anybody..like i say your pte instructor will know do for you everything from the warm up till testing time. you just have to get ready and wait for tester in the testing room after warm up session k.

maybe you want to call your instructor and check withhim what time you need to meet him at the circuit before warm up tomorrow.

Most likely yes. Since i am learning from sch for practical, there is 2 time given in my TP booking(test and warm up) so i know how soon to turn up in advance

My tip: go for the warm up, it's good as a last minute prep

Trust me, give it ur all best for the test.

After u pass your TP, you can relax driving since some of the "rules" can slack alr

i heard some testers dont even bother if your car is park straight or not as long as you go in the lot..and will ask you to move out before you put to "N"

Sudden brake test. When tester give signal(hitting dashboard), u need to brake as hard as possible using normal brake. E brake cannot use.

Simple test that may be tested during circuit only. My test didnt have this

Normal is on the longer stretch of straight road in circuit.. Bu seldom heard they test on it also..

have qns to ask

1) sometimes will drive into wrong lane in circuit at BBDC means drive against the flow of traffice, how to rectify this mistake can anyone share? sometimes there is arrow pointing to the directions on the road, but sometimes no arrow is shown, then i willbe confused when to turn when coming out of S Course or Parallel Parking or Vertical Parking etc...

2) when turning into S Course, must we do safety checks?
if yes, how to do safety checks?

1) tot normally instructors/testers will say " turn right/left " when coming out of circuit courses ?

2) yes. safety checks is not just for S course. other courses like crank course also need. just treat it as a normal turn.
check rear view mirror, signal , check left hand side miror, check blindspot then turn.

hi there, my tester was foo shou way too! i felt that he was rather lenient already, i passed under him (second attempt).

he rarely let first timer pass. I also fail first time under him. first thing he ask me before we even reach the car. "first time ah" I repiled "yah first time" he repiled. "oh nvm jus try your best"

hey all..i'm a private student.

i just took my 1st tp test last fri sept 11 at 345pmand i was utterly disappointed...with the way i'm being tested. i think it was clearly unjustice. honestly i didnt do any major errors(mount/strike kerb, wrong positioning etc), while doing the courses..even parking i went in 1 time and tester insisted i didnt check blindspots etc. so pts deducted..fine.

even the route test was cut short, no u-turn..no ebrake. the road mainly zebra crossing, bends, school zone area and stoplines..all i believed all i hv to go slow except for straight roads. so i was somewhat hoping to pass but i noticed tester ticked like there's no tmrw so i dont assume anything.

back at the testing room, he kept saying that i was slow..etc. those at bbdc will know whats the traffic like inside circuit at that time. and my friend who took driving under school bbdc told me ..her instructor said alot of time dont go beyond 20km/h in circuit. i took her advice except for straight road i go like 25-30km/h. she already passed her test last 2 mths 1st attempt.

i was aware of blind spot checking and stuffs so i really did my best . i was also angry when tester deducted me 4pts for not checking at bbdc exit when i already did turn my head 2-3 times before turning left. so when i failed i was just disappointed..especially when no major errors done. and most points marked in circuits.

those who took the tp same date/time as me, do share yr experiences. most of my friends told me because i'munder private so tester purposely failed me and also because that tester already reached his quota for the day so i was realy unlucky. ;(

hi jasciante, i'm sorry u didn't make it this time round. Dun be discouraged, try agin nxt time.

If you happened to read my post 2 wk ago, my tp is 3.45 also, at bbdc. First of all, (most) testers dun like us to go slow, take my advice, maybe some dun agree. Ask yourself, what's the speed limit of circuit? if no car in front of you, why slow, when reach bend, release your foot from accelerator will do, else go, up gear 3.

Second, safety check do it once only, make it big enough for tester to see.

Last the pt system is a guide only, not like exam, 51 you pass, 49 you fail. Therefore it's important to show tester you confident and zai in driving. Driving slow and check safety multiple time is a sign of no confident, am i right?

Practice more, i'm sure you can make it
