my Upgrade kit just arrived last night
hope this week got time to try
sometimes really pain in the a$$ to do backup =X
Doing a backup is good for you in case anything happen to screw up the
Windows , so you won't feel frustrated when you have to do again all over
from beginning .
At the same time did you download from one of the user posted for
Sony drivers support to run on Win 7 ...
For me tomorrow will be preparing my clean install on my Z again, this time
will be the 3rd time for now.. Lucky got backup the image or not die lar..
hmm, if it is true, then it will be very very nice.
my upgrade kit will arrive tonight ..
i will give it a go and see how much optimization i can do to it at the minimum amount of effort.![]()
Would like to thanks to "Firestone" for provide those Z drivers on the post, now my
notebook is up and running without those Vista . Now my is clean install from ground

paiseh, just saw ur msg.. so everything went well, including the light from stamina switch?
Just to check with you pal, were you able to install the chipset? Because when I tried to install, it gave me this error stating that my system does not meet the minimum requirement. But not much issues with this. Just want to know why
Hi..
Did you follow the instruction given by the user firestone , first you need to up date
the Sony firmware later follow by the rest of the drivers. I sure there are many users
have done ,so should not be a problem unless your model is not the same like us.
Care to tell us what model are you using ?? Maybe we can help you out..
Thank you.
It's VGN-Z45GD. The rest of the drivers are fine, just this chipset very funny. But my lappy can operate still. No problems. Just want to find out why this chipset can't install. I did update my BIOS to R4043M before I installed the drivers, though not in sequence after the gfx cards' ones onwards. I skipped the chipset after I got the error.
Once again thank you, say how I buy you lunch for your trouble getting those drivers.

how you going guys? im new to this forum and would like to know any of your experiences with your vaio z. which model have you got? hows the performance? how long have you owned it? so far all i see is about upgrading to windows 7. also read comments about vaio having a standard price everywhere like mac. well im a mac user and i've never paid RRP on my macs and never will and believe that everything is negotiable...
i also tried to PM a very popular forum member about going price for the vaio z and shop location so far no reply! all i can think about is maybe not interested...any thoughts?
any guides to clean install Win7 on a Z16?
i've looked at the sony website, its says not supported...![]()

Z36GD/J - Experience so far not bad except for the stupid Intel Wireless Adaptor.
cant seem to auto reconnect to my Dlink router and i have to switch profile each time i need to connect.
Bought it in April / May this year![]()
Battery performance is good also.
Thermal performance to me is not that good though.
Yes, Sony is an even more price control freak then Macs. Everywhere you go you will encounter the same pricing. Staffs maximum get 3% discount and unless u are a high ranking staff then u might be able to get more. Even importing via overseas channels will come out to be roughly the same as buying locally except that you get more design choices. Alternatively if you know any resellers and you are able to get them to sell you at their Reseller's pricing
So if you arent really to prepared to pay the hefty price (alot of ppl think it is not worth it) then you should stick to your macs![]()
