sorry whats jiak ken tang? hokays is a *******ization of ok right?
anyways, i was wondering is EDMW representative of the general singaporean population? i hardly find people who enjoy the same movies as me... is it true most singaporeans prefer asian films/dramas?
and though i may *tolerate* the occasional blockbuster, i wouldn't rate them any good at all.
just wondering...
nah. it'd be wrong to take the demographics of EDMW and use it as a gauge to represent the general demographics of Sg.
firstly, there are no girls in EDMW
ok ok. just a few. u can count by the number of those hundred pages long chee hong threads.
2ndly, too many sch kids here with multiple bo liao clone accounts.
judging by the threads here, always spamming wan bao news, STOMP news, taiwan news.... anti PAP, govt, NS threads, complain threads.... all the why ah? how ah? threads..... spoof threads.... anti Wood Xuan threads.... anti Christianity threads.... (wat hv i left out?)
if u were to use EDMW as a gauge.... then the ave sgrean would prob be a 16 yr old boy staying at home whole day, watching ch8/U, playing computer games and pcw-ing on EDMW
to find pple whom enjoy the same type of movies as u, i guess u hv to go to an area where these pple hang out.
like the forum of which TS originally posted in, the movies forum.
also, what kinda movies us sgreans prefer are sometimes affected by the general population, or by cinemas who choose to air the kinda movies which they think they can rake in the most profit, or also by the media authority.
there are lotsa nice foreign obscure movies out there, but if the media authority dont allow it to be aired in our cinemas, or if the media and journalists dont write about them, or if cinemas like Shaw or GV dont bring them in, or only screen them in tiny theaters for a short duration..... then us sgreans wont get to enjoy them.
i guess DVDs or bukit timah are the only source.
we can buy the DVDs, screen them at home on our 100 inch LCD TV and invite a couple of frens over to start our own movie appreciation club.
