Starhub will increase all cable TV subscription plan prices by $2 with effect from 1 Aug.

Should have a negligible impact. Assuming everyone's plans stay the same, around 0.5m subscribers x $2 = $1m/month or $12m/year. Starhub's total revenue for FY2010 was about $2238m. If the $12m goes directly to net profits ($263m), that's about 4.5%.

i thnk dey mentioned tht the main reason of the rise is to cover the increasing cost of capex. with the fierce competition among the telcos and the increasing cost of capex, i wonder if starhub's high dividend is sustainable.

Check some of my past write ups. Capes in other area will fall sometimes. The price of network equipment replacements improve efficiency so if u depreciate more ur replacement cost might be lower.

That said they also have the possibility of bundling more and improving arpu

Capex from cable tv think is much less than infra

IF SH drops to $2.50, sure collect a few lots. Regret selling mine so early :(

You should buy SH to collect dividends....you shouldn't sell.

Something drastic must happen for it to drop to $2.50

After the Japanese tsunami, the price dropped significantly to around $2.60

That was the lowest this year so far.

Hoping it will drop back to $2.60+ zone.....but i know it is quite impossible.
