Sorry lazy to read through 170page of posts. Is the in-call volume been resolved? I am using stock firmware 2.3.3, KI2. I always need to adjust the media volume max to get a better in-call volume loudness.

but is your battery graph still showing a full yellow bar under signal? if yes, that means there is still a signal! Another thing u can check is your battery drain, if 1% can last u 1-2 hours on idling mode, i.e. deep sleep, then u r fine. if cannot..check for apps working in the background. KI4 is supposedly very good. Quite a lot of ppl here used a custom rom called checkrom v2.0 which is based on 2.3.5 Ki4 and have reported excellent battery life. Not sure which telco they are on though.

I'm on a custom rom based on 2.3.4 KH3, haven't upgrade to ki4 yet. So far battery life is much better imo. Will test out 2.3.5 Ki4 soon.

Hmm as far as I rmb, there was no signal. My bedroom signal not v strong, maybe just nice I put it in a dead spot. Anyway, I've since flashed KI4 2.3.5 plus Siyah 2.1.1 kernel. No problems with lost signal anymore.
Hoping to push my phone battery to last 2 days, with gentle undervolting and unclocking (100 - 1200 mhz smartassv2)

As for custom roms, right now I'm sticking with stock. Performance is good enough for me, I just want increased battery life for now.

Newb with 2.3.5 question

Hi guys.

Been reading up on some posts here regarding flashing to ROM FIRMWARE version 2.3.5.

Can I install these ROMs the normal way ? Usually, I'll just copy paste the ROMs on the SD Card, then boot in CWM mode, then choose the "install from zip" option. I can still flash the 2.3.5 through this way right ? Cause I read in one of the posts that you need another prerequisite file before flashing to 2.3.5 ?

Read that there might be some issues ? (e.g. unrooting ?). Are there any other issues I should take note of ?

Was thinking of try this ROM, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1162715.

Thank you for any help and guidance.. :)

I'm on custom rom 2.3.4 KH3 and yes in-call volume with headphones is much better.

good for you then! siyah is a very good kernel from what I read. Btw does your stock 2.3.5 Ki4 comes with the wifi-sharing process and samsung apps removed?

Hi all

Been new to android...after reading most of the post still abit confuse.
Just wan to quick check a few issue..hope some senior can help.

My Baseband I9100DXKH1
My Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100DXKH2

Does it matter if my baseband is KH1 and kernel is KH2?

I only flash my filmware from KH1 to KH2 (not root) as i wanted to have chinese menu. Now i wish to root my S2 but seem that there no CF-root KH2 for me to download. Can i use the KH3 to root? And will i still have chinese menu on KH3 if i rooted?

yes u can use CF-KH3 to root as thats the closest version available. I'm not sure about chinese menu, my Kh3 based custom rom doesnt have chinese language option under "language and keyboard settings". Maybe u can do a google search to find out?

Flashing a kernel doesn't touches what ur rom is. Nothing will be changed, less the kernel, and you gain root.

Just flash the kernel that is closest to yours. NOTHING WILL BE CHANGED IN YOUR PHONE.

Could someone share with me where could I download the Official i9100 stock rom pls?

I need to flash back to Stock Rom as I need to send my fone for servicing.
I had flashed back the DXKI2 firmware but it still running on litening rom.

I now currently downloading this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 for
(OLC MultiCSC (MM1, GLB, SMA, XTE, XME, SIN, STH,THL, XSP, XXV, XEV, XSE, XTC):http://www.multiupload.com/J6QN87JW4S)

Not sure does it come with the rom itself. :s12:

Tks! Just use CF-root KH3 to root and went fine. Nothing change as u mention.
After i try to flash speedmod k2-16 and notice my battery life improved.
Usually from 1am tp 8am will drain ard 12% but after flash with speedmod only drain 5%.
