Honestly, if one can't afford to pay full every month, than I suggest that have a look at their own finances and cut their cards away, credit / charge. Singapore's credit card game isn't US. We don't have a system where our credit card's interest is so low that you can start an internet giant from it.

Yup - credit cards should be a convenience (enjoy promotions and earn points) and not a means of leveraged spending...hahah

And without owing the bank you have just saved a good amt of interest.

I think it will be tough to apply for AE Plat Charge card based on S$121K pa. I called them once and was told that it must be above S$200+k pa. They can only offer me Plat Reserve Credit Card based on my current income.

not true on the income part, my friend recieved pre approved AE plat charge cards twice (just need to sign and mail it in, no other documents or info needed) but both times he turned it down because of the high annual charges. think one time he was unemployed :s13:

Yes I think both of your stories are true....
For example in Hong Kong, AE either look at your "annual income" or "annual expenditure".
For example, HK AE Plat Charge, annual income of SG$170K, or holding asset of SG$1000K, or annual expenditure with gold charge card for certain amount (I forgot the amount, seems like SG$100K), are all eligible for the card...

Congrats :)

They also approved my supp card :D

But the funny thing with HSBC is that they always send the pin over first before the card reaches me :s22:

quick check guys, just got my card & booked my limo pickup & JetQuay access for my departing flight from Changi. But how does the fast track immigration clearance work & which countries can we use it at? Do we just go to the APEC immigration counters at any of the airports & flash our credit card? Btw i'm travelling to Brisbane :s11:

found this website for infinite APAC privileges...i think some of the privileges might be different for us. Like they give a discount on the purchase of the Priority Pass but we get it for free.
