Hey all. Sorry for the long wait for the review on my patchworks bumper. After much consideration and trying the real thing at ac, i decided to get this silver bumper with real teak wood as the contrast of the color seems greater and hence appear nicer.
the first image at the top is to show how slim this bumper really is. from my research it is so far the world's thinnest and it takes many hours to cnc 1 piece. the thinner the bumper it seems that more time is needed to cnc that explains the price i guess. when i hold the case at the store, my hand was like holding nothing! impress.
i really love the wood grains on the bumper as you can see from my pictures I keep focusing on the wood pattern. really nice. i bought the wood one because no aluminum so far has wood built into the case. most are carbon fiber but the carbon fiber one was really tempting also. haha. maybe next up would be that.
the grip on the case is really good. it feels exactly like holding a bare iphone. no sharp edges. slimmer than sword. signal is the same 4-5 bars for me. finishing is better than my element case as the finishing surface is smoother when you slide your fingers across. power button and earphone jack easily accessible.
compared to navjack's x trim, its more worth because in this case you get wood on all 3 sides of the case unlike navjack only 1 side of carbon fiber. so if you are a carbon fiber fanatic I would suggest you get the patchworks carbon fiber version.
There is 1 pieces of screen protector and 1 set of wood pieces (which I haven't bear to stick on till I change new sp). the screen protector is ultra optics and anti scratch as stated on the packaging. Usually this kinda sp like the sgp one already cost about $30 and that set of real wood easily cost more than $50. so I feel that its really worth it.
the wood box that came with it really swee because I am also watch siao so this kinda box which looks abit like watch box really poison tio me.
Honestly now if you want a high end case and ask me element case better or patchworks, i will tell u patchworks because its really damn head turning with the wood details and u really pay for high end quality.
