Hi guys, does anyone called up for an interview?I am invited for interview by NTU after I send my appeal.(previously rejected and in the letter stated that application was not successful).

what course did u apply?
mind to share your result?
you were rejected for admission at first isit?

coz i m more or less the same situation, sorry to ask so much

oh woah, chill everybody. I agreed previously with the quote on "ask what can you do for the country instead of asking what the country can do for you." Don't diss, don't blame, just do your best and leave certain things to luck. As cliche as it sounds, if it's yours, it will be yours. If you didn't get it, move on! It doesn't mean it's end of your life.

Let's be neutral and considerate, I think the most important thing is not discussing how unfair the world is, blaming who and who, but about preparing your next plan/ how to move on if you can't get a place in any of these three uni. So yeah, chill man people.

To people who are waiting for appeal results, may the odds be ever in your favor and good luck!

Hi, may i ask i came across some forums and some said that their appeal is successful. I thought appeal results will be released end June/ early July? Why they got the results so quickly?

Hi.. I dun understand why MOXLOTUS support the FTs so much, keep defending the FTs.. maybe he is a FT himself..U look at his replies and u will know.. keep helping to defend the PRC in our universities.

I dun think I am the only one who is anti-FTs for snatching our university place, our jobs and pushing up the price of everything including housing and causing the Jams.. and my father is also fed up with the FTs who are suppose to be cheaper and faster...

In other countries, the locals would support the locals, but uniquely in singapore, we got ppl like MOXLOTUS supporting foreigners..

Ok.. i think majority are like MOXLOTUS ?? So now i cant get into local uni, next worried about finding a job, next worried about the high housing costs etc... My father is already facing some problem with FTs.. ok.. think no point talking about my father, wait that MOXLOTUS wants to say my father useless, cannot compete with FTs..

Ok.. think i tok too much.. i dun want to give MOXLOTUS chance to "attack" me again..

TO MOXLOTUS: ok.. just treat that I am a loser, cannot compete with PRCs for a place in uni.. dun insult me anymore and stop defending the FTs. Please stand up for ur own fellow countryman for a change.. This is SINGAPORE, my country, but the way I see it, FTs are better treated than locals..

Not able to get into local uni and seeing so many PRCs in ntu is really not a pleasant sight.... but to stop ppl like MOXLOTUS for insulting me anymore, I admnit I am a loser in my own country... I will pack up one day and go overseas.. MOXLOTUS, please stop insulting me.. U win!

To be honest, there are really many people who dislike the fact that in some if not most faculties, there are many FTs (Personally that is one of the reasons why I am deterred from going to NTU, no offense to FTs). However, what makes you think that our local universities enjoy enrolling FTs when they are well aware of the despondency of Singaporeans when it comes to that? I agree with you that no one likes their placing to be 'snatched' away by people who don't belong to or are affiliated to this country as much as you are. BUT if they manage to get a placing, then it is due to their hard work and capability. It's not as if our local universities favour them over us. So if they really deserve their place, what can we do except to do equally well, if not better?

I think someone mentioned before only some % of uni is allocated to foreigners and locals only compete with locals while foreigners compete with other foreigners.

Anyway you are probably trying to get into a tough course with small intake.

No uni not end of the world.

I also have not got a place in uni..rejected by nus, ntu appeal (most prob won't be successful) smu went for interview, programming challenge waiting for reply this week will know result...so many hurdles and i guess i'm probably older than most of you here which is a bad thing because at my age, usually people already have a degree and a job with few years of exp while I still only got diploma.

Just appeal, if cannot work a few years and try again.

Is yours for a phone interview or do you have to go down personally? If it's a phone interview its quite easy one. Basically just asks you about yourself, what you've been doing etc. then he'll ask you if you've made any suggestions/improvements at wherever you were working (just BS some rubbish).

I once went for an interview at the SPMS as well. That one was one on one. Much more difficult cos I was interviewed by the dean who actually tested my knowledge on physics and stuff. So be prepared!

I don't think the issue here is about whether we support our fellow countrymen or FTs, is that those whose results/cca records are deserving of the place, gets the place. Lets not fight anymore!

Yes I believe that's the fastest way you can find out if you got it or not.. :/ Wished that NTU had such a portal like NUS.. Was a pain waiting for my offer letter previously..

NTU last time I found out I got into my course after appeal by logging into the join acceptance portal. Perhaps you can try that.
