Hi All, is there any real difference from RT-N66U vs RT-N66R?

My house has around 30 odd wireless spots all over already, reception is bad.. Which adaptor should I get which will be better? EA-N66 or USB-N66?

BTW, i'm on singnet exstream 200m

Thanks alot.

wireless is often hit and miss.

i can tell you to get the best wireless adapter yet the results might still be the same.

of course, the EA will be the better choice to assured more chances of a better range but is your router up to the mark?

Hi,

My RT-N66U temperature is around 59 degrees from system info screen from the latest merlin firmware. Any suggestions for cooling it down?

Hi chuachongchee,

We don't have this model - RT-N66R. Which model are you saying?? I would suggest RT-N66U to pair up with EA-N66U. It should be good enough.

Thanks!

Hello tronian,

Thanks for the feedback, we will need to check on the temperature.

Suggestion to "cool down": Make the router stand like a spider.

Hi guys,

I happened to have 2x Asus RT-N66U units, and have one of them connected to the ONT (setup as "Wireless Router" mode).

However, the wireless signal to the room is pretty weak (30Mbps wireless vs 95Mbps wired), and I would like to boost the wireless signal speed by making another spare Asus RT-N66U as a repeater.

May I know how should I configure the 2nd Asus RT-N66U to act as a repeater? I can't find anything in the manual.

Would appreciate any guidance. The thing is I do not know whether I should be messing the configuration settings in the main router, or the secondary router.

As I said...don't act like a smart a$$. I never doubt what others are doing and respect everyone here. You think you know everything because you have some "knowledge" based on your experiences...well, f that. Any Tom, Dick or Harry from SLS can give such baseless opinion. So do everyone a favor and keep your mouth shut unless you got something constructive.

Try to follow like the ASUS bro here..try to understand the situation before saying "i bet this and that". You are the type of person I'll never respect, not because you had a go at me, it's because you are a immature kid...at least your mind is.

Hello waynerooney,

We have 2 66U version(N66U and AC66U). I suppose it is a RT-N66U since you posted in this thread.

Try the below and feedback.

Go to Command Prompt (Locate at Start or you can go to Start > Run>CMD)

Type the following:

step 1. ipconfig /release
step 2. ipconfig /flushdns
step 3. ipconfig /renew

See if it works.

Thanks!

Hi thanks for the reply! Yes its a RT-N66U.
I've tried your solution but it didn't work... Do you have other solutions?
