Phew, took me a few days to read though 534 pages of this thread!!!

As my Starhub Fiber contract has ended, I was considering MyRepublic's Static IP and then I chanced upon this thread... I had some reservations especially after seeing some billing issues, Customer Service issues, set up issues. But every company will have their fair share of complaints.

After seeing how AntonS, NicBlais, and viewqwest actively helping out everyone (from the simple users to the extreme power users) that was what finally swayed my decision and I signed up with VQ. I have yet to sign up on the Fibernet.sg forums as I see no instructions of sorts on the email official receipt.

AntonS, I sent you a PM regarding setting up my Zhone in a manner similar to that of what edwin21 did last year (details are in the PM).

AntonS, NicBlais, viewqwest, keep up the hard work.

Cheers,
James

P.S. I hope the 2nd port on my FTP gets set up properly. Feeling a little worried after seeing all the OpenNet issues. Hahaha.

Yeah kinda surprised cos the hardware should be capable to at least 350mbps.

Some updates... Looks like Cisco 1941 is not limited to <300Mbps afterall.

Test against SingTel server:

Upload speed

Hi,

I'm on Fiber 300 now. Upload speed can barely pass 100Mbps only instead of 150 Mbps.
VQW staff told me that speedtest.net does not have accurate upload speed measurement (download speed is accurate enough though). I haven't followed up with them yet.

Just wanna check, anybody can reach the rated upload speed using speedtest.net (VQW server)?

Thanks.

Hi James,

To sign onto the fibernet forums you have to first create an account on forum.fibernet.sg and then e-mail your username along with your NRIC or the full name on your application form to forum@viewqwest.com

We'll then be able to activate your account and grant you access to the customer only section :)

Guys,

Now that the IT show is over, we would like to commence testing of our new Freedom VPN 2.0

We need 5 volunteers on Apple devices who would like to give it a go. Please register your interest on our fibernet forum.

Thanks

Just got notified by ViewQwest that both my OpenNet FTP's port 2 activation and ViewQwest installation dates are cancelled!!! Apparently there is some problems on OpenNet's side...

All affected upgrade will be done on the 18th..suggest to test again after that day to confirm the upload speed.

EDWM has threads with even more pages loh.

I would rather it stays as is. Splitting thread = lose legacy information over time.

Right now, anyone who needs legacy info can just use the function "Search this Thread". VQ has nothing to hide, total transparent even with the occasional hiccups. Let the consumers/audiences see for themselves, search for themselves everything about VQ in 1 single thread.

I'm curious. Do people find it faster to get a response from VQW by posting this kind of support question here or by emailing noc@viewqwest.com ?

port 2 direct connection via zhone router (what this means )

The Zhone can only be Bridge or Router mode.
