Used Antara service by Mr Ghani.
I read a few of the earlier established forumers recommending them, the other featured serviceman here did not reply me at all.
So i just go with Mr Ghani instead since they are more service orientated.

Sms Mr Ghani on the first day, no reply. SMS again and received a call that he overlooked as he was too busy. Made an appointment on day after and they came on time. Quite happy with it, cause i heard some servicemen need months to reply or to book an appointment.

The guys came and actually managed to diagnose accurately instantly.

Did 2 overhaul on two systems and relocate one of the air con to a new spot. My system was like dying blowing out air that's not cold and not blowing well, so i think it's about time. It was also dripping and i suspect the tray inside is infested with mosquitoe breeding since i have mosquitoes in my room for no reason.

I need relocation for the air con as it was right above my new LCD TV, if it drips, i may lose more money getting a new TV.

My mom is those frugal type, she too find they are good.

They really dismantled the air con and clean with alkaline solution, also explained how to time my maintaince, maintain the air con/condenser, which brand is recommended, etc.
I witnessed all the jelly stuffs they sucked out of the tubes, how they pour alkaline solution(which i think irritated their skin), how the solution fuzzied up with smoke and turned the black metal back to silver shiny condition.

The guy Rizal, is very experienced in his work, he goes on to the next step naturally as if he had done it for a thousand times on my Panasonic AC. He can dismantle the entire thing, fit it back and straight on it without tinkering. I was a little worried at first, as no testing were made, but it actually works as he expected.

He also modified my condenser, topped up gas, etc. Too many details to describe. They also cleared up the mess, they will cover your applicances if they are in danger.
Rizal brought an apprentice who is Mr Ghani's son, who is very merticulous in his work.

Now air con is working well. There's some issues with the trunking, some warping and gaps in the following day. So i sms him the next day, and his guys came again to fix it in few hours.

Out of goodwill, they helped me filled up the gaps on the trunkings, and helped my mom cement some loose parts at her toilet, also given a small pack of cement for my brother's house.

The cost of the overhaul is $120 per air con.
My relocation costed $180 but they given me 10% off.
So total was $402.

I find it's money well spent, cause on day one they came at 1pm, left at 9.30pm. 8 and half hours of work.
On second day, another 1 hour of touch up.

If you need normal servicing, they charge $40 for 1 AC.
If you have two and above points to service, they charge $25 per air con, meaning $50 for 2.
I think Amatara will be my choice unless their standard drops.
We had called many companies before, none had done as much as them in all ways.

Amatara is a decent company with 8 staffs, I think all Singaporeans since Mr Ghani and his 3 other staffs i met are locals. The staffs i've met are so far very friendly and approachable, you can tell they are careful too.
Mr Ghani is the boss and he does all the quotations.
They also do installations, and do corporate projects, so they are established and seasoned enough. With enough staffs to respond fast enough too.

My mom and i couldn't say thanks enough, so i think they justify a real positive review.
As a forumer, and i've done tonnes of mass orders dealing with forumers with high expectancy, i'm sure Amatara can meet the mark for what forumers demand.

I'm not a clone advertising for them, but a real forumer.
With such standards, i'm sure they will have great business, and i hope they will maintain their standard in time to come.

This is a picture of their van with their contact:

I contacted via mobile at 97949498 (Mr: Ghani)

Any special reason if the air con was chemical washed but not feeling code after a month?

Asked for servicing for just 1 air con yesterday, told Mr Ghani about the problem.

The guy came and troubleshoot.
Found out that one of the spareparts is broken, (Thermoster or something) I've another air con in another room which i no longer use., so they just cannibalise and put into my air con. That is to dismantle both air cons to retreive and replace parts.

The 2 guys came at 9am+, left at almost 12pm.

Service 1 aircon, troubleshoot + replace parts and topped the gas for us.

Total $40 bucks.

Again, it's worth the money.

hi,

does one change the trunking for a resale unit that is like 14 years old?
i'm having problem deciding to change or not...
Reason for not changing:
- existing aircon units are still cold and there is no leakage
- the neighbours didnt change theirs when they change their aircon units.
Reason for changing:
- it's 14 years old and wonder if it can last another 10 years(?)
- doing major reno so wondering if it's a good idea but not cheap to change trunking...
Have asked someone to have a look and he commented that we have the option - to change and not to change... sign...like that also like never give answer...
so...anyone has any similar experiences or any advices??:)

If you are going to do a renovation, you might as well consider to change all existing air-conditioning fittings like copper tubing, cables n etc. But do take note that old materials used are better quality then nowadays... There are such quality materials nowadays but its upon request or depend on the person viewing the job to analyze and recommend you the necessary material specification needed like thickness of copper tubing, insulation and brand of electrical cables used as not all cables are not 100% copper nowadays.

if like that i can sure is pcb got problem.cos mit starmax always burn pcb.

agreed on mit starmex pcb issue. Changed 2 times for it. There are two pcb board inside the compressor. I get mit own service crew to do the repair due realised outside service coy do jack up the spare parts cost after getting parts from mit. Everything added up, it much more expensive than mit.

so if your repairman tell you wat parts need to be replace, u can call mit to enquiry the part cost. from there, you will know how much the repairman earn from you.

Just had my aircon system service by Antara as well. Great service by Rizal. Had 4 quotes for replacement of one of the compressor and Antara was the lowest. You can contact Ghani at 97949498

Soooo ... the weather have been really unbearable for the past week. I need to stop avoiding the costs of getting a new air-con!

Any air-con contractors to recommend?

Do contractors have services like to hack down the in-built wardrobes as well? My piping for my almost 2 decade old air-conditioning system has some parts of the pipes running behind the in-build wardrobes... and I would have to hack down all my wardrobes in 3 of my rooms to change the whole system. Air-con have been down for the past few years. Honestly, I don't know how I've survived this far. But I'm sick and tired of feeling sticky 5 minutes after I shower.

I'm looking for a 4 unit air-con system if possible. 1 for each bedroom (4-room flat) and 1 for the living room. Energy/cost saving. Don't have to be mega cold, but cold enough will do.. Reliable in the sense little to no breakdowns. I'd prefer this as it works better with my wallet in the long run. I prefer slightly higher starting cost and less maintenance cost.

Do recommend please!

My toshiba system4 still strong after 19 yrs use, with recent diy cleaning/pipe clearings.
Rally true that post2000, all electronics made not to last?

Hey guys,

Anyone got experience with a contractor who can install new unit without removing built-in cupboard as piping runs behind them? My dad says that the contractor who installed my existing aircon 30 years ago did it without destroying the whole built-in cupboard.

If otherwise, how much to have a contractor remove in-built cupboard before installing air-con? And possible to install back same one if minimal damage has been done?

Tech V Bad experience

Just to share my personal experience.
Similar to a bro who posted earlier, i too have bad experience with Tech V.

Something always needs to be changed when they come for most servicing.
And i know it wasn't broken cos i use air-con everyday.

To change, it cost you $.
Don't change, they screw up the parts and u have no way to prove they did cos they already told u it was broken.
and you live with the hassel of broken parts until u find someone else to fix it.

it is very sad that we have people in our soceity making a living as such.
