Its not 100% improbale seeing that they have the Tab and Tab Note series.
Maybe. But those 2 were sequential releases, with the Tab being more of a budget release.

If these 2 8-inchers were released at the same time, it's not helping them at all.

the new firmware LQI is epic. 1.5 hours screen on time over 22 hours standby (3G SingTel) only took 25% off the battery. almost beating my note ii despite it's age.

The spec would be too high to be affordable. Someone please challenge me, but the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is still the best-value tablet of the size. 5-inch, 7-inch are too small, 10-inch too big. 8-inch too expensive. Unless you use your tab to do run some power apps, then the current config is really good enough.

Sure when it initially comes out it'll always be expensive, it's the same with all the new gadgets and gizmos, give it a few months and the prices will come down.

Well if it's a 8.0" tablet with Super AMOLED Full HD and Exynos quad-core etc. then it'll be a good update for me to refresh the still-good-but-admittedly-ageing Tab 7.7, though I guess I'll also wait a few months for prices to stabilize a bit first before buying.

Can you help me to check if there is option to select or download Chinese language pack for any of the built in keyboards for LQI ?

If no....I will stick my current version.

Nope. Both Swype/Samsung keypad does not have chinese.

However, I was prior rooted on LP8, so I installed Swype Beta 1.3 and after the upgrade to the new rom, I lost root, but my Swype is intact and I upgraded to Swype 1.4, just a minute ago. That has chinese and I only use Swype :s13:

i have got no idea, i am still on the very first 4.0.4 firmware (LP7) which came out way earlier.... :s22:

i am currently using the 7.7 as a pure tablet with no data plan and is very satisfied with the battery life...

99% is normal, no worries about it...

Thanks for the heads up, think I shall not waste time flashing it then.

LP7 is sufficient as I'm using it purely as a tablet tethered to my phone data plan via bluetooth.

Hopefully the next "update" will be for JB...fingers crossed.

but on LP7 I supposed the battery life was totally Yucks. rendered this tablet almost unusable for months. that's even if airplane mode was on.

:(

beats me. I could only push out 2+ hours screen on time back then. Before I could even finish a pdf of about 100 pages which was purely text and systems diagrams,I was prompted juice running out.

today im into my 6 hours screen on time yay! with 15% left.
