Played with this new Series 7 for few days, the whole system quite slow due to the 5400rpm hdd, if change to SSD will it void the warranty?

I did some benchmarking with different disk caching option and found the best setting.

Disabled: ExpressCache, Intellimemory, Superfetch

Installed: Supercache
Disk Cache, Hybrid Disk Cache and RamDisk

Installed: RAMDisk (allocated 3GB) - redirected all temp folder and browser cache to RAMdisk.

Have been monitoring the disk activity on a daily basis via Windows 8 Resource Monitor as well as Supercache monitor and so far so good.

Not sure if replacement of the hardisk with SSD will void the warranty... check out what others are saying in other forums.

almost all funan stores got but no price war, all steady at 1999.

Tell the 3rd floor Newstead salesperson that their first Chronos 7 customer brought a unit from them on 26 Mar for $1899 and thus they shld also sell it to you at this price.

My model is NP770E-S01SG, launched globally in 2013, and in Singapore on 25 March 2013.

Still contemplating whether to get this, the battery life is great but I have seen some users facing gfx card issues

I brought another adaptor... one for my office, and the other one for home.

Skip Samsung Singapore and go straight to the shops... in this case, Newstead Funan. Am not sure as of today, whether the 5 additional sets have been sold out yet.

Where did you buy the power adaptor? How much? Is it Samsung or Third party brand?

HDD shld be 1TB.

$1999 with RAM up to 12GB is a great deal since one can do a 24 month interest free credit card payment!

I bought mine for 1999 and i told the person i dont want any freebies but change to SSD for me, and they say can change to 128gb for free, but i topped up another 150 for 256gb and it comes with 1year warrranty..

Becareful if you want to change to SSD, the back casing is very very fragile and easy to crack
