From the TV programme, Finespun Clothiers say its shirts start from $240 and suits start from $1,800.

No wonder 60% of its clients are ang moh.
Chop carrot prices.

try to take a closer look of their shirts and other products. try to understand a bit more about what they offer. :)

The prices are probably in line with similar offerings in the industry. However looking at what the male person was wearing on TV, it gives me shudders.

They are quite well known internationally for their quality.

Only on SF lah... :s13:
This is said tongue-in-cheek. You ask anyone in the streets about Vanda or Sam Hober, you are going to get a blank look.

Nothing to do with the owner or not. Black jacket, with peak lapels too slim and with this shiny strip. The fabric is tugging and pulling at the button. That guy was also wearing white shirt, khaki pants with shiny black sneakers at one point... :o I dunno if this is good advertorial for custom work.

ha. i have no comment on the styling part.

that one not shining strip, that is original fabric. they cut it into 2 and joint them back. lapel size, well again individual preference. (don.t f me ah)

button pulling. well. the jacket waist is too small for that guy. that.s y pulling.

My itailor shirt and pants arrived long ago, forgot to post pics :o

I am very satisfied with the outcome. They shipped out about 1 month after order. Received in about 7-10 days.

Shirt Review
Cloth material is acceptable. Now after 2nd wash the shirt is still in shape, did not fur.

I ordered their slim euro cut. Made a mistake in my measurements by giving some slack (extra inches). Resulting in my chest & waist area have more cloth. To have a really good fit, just give them your exact body size.

They have also been very open to taking in additional measurements for the arms/wrist as it is not asked in their order form. I gave them my arm size, told them about sizes for my wrist for both sides as wearing watch.

I also requested for collar stay pockets instead of their default built in collar stays.

Pants review
Very nice fit. Could have been about 1" longer. Hips area abit excess clothe as I again gave allowance in my measurements >.< Material is surely more polyester mix than wool. But not really shiny so far.

I have ordered my second shirt with newly adjusted measurements. They should fit as a glove now! Its good they offer a cheap 19.99 eur shirt for us to do testing.

The guy wore his own shirt, not from finespun i think. He had to took off coat for body measurement, and the lady helps to dress him back.

Its a pity indeed, not to feature a profesional model or stylish. consumer and proper fitting jacket for the TV interview.

went down to personality today, extremely disappointing! The shirt he made for me was too tight and when I sit down the shirt bunches up.

The owner, eric, said that it's because i requested slim and his other customer even ask for a even slimmer cut before. complete bull**** argument, just because someone ordered something slimmer, what does that even have to do about the shirt not fitting properly.

went to several shops in peninsular and i have always requested slim, and this is the first time i'm experiencing this problem. said it's not gonna fit and he said next time he can add one inch to the sides. WTF? NEXT TIME? THEN THE $95 HOW? because this eric guy didnt give any allowance on the shirt, once its too tight his not gonna be able to fix it.
brought the shirt to a next door tailor and he said its definitely too tight.

please avoid Personality on level 3 peninsula, went there because i read a few good reviews and decided to try something new, complete regret.

most peninsular tailors got mixed reviews so take it easy man. many of us probably experienced the same sh1t elsewhere. happens when we visit the tailor the first time.

Bro, did you pay the $95 by cash, NETS or credit card?

If you paid by credit card, try calling the issuing bank and do a charge back.

Lol tbh most people dress horribly. Especially when it comes to business atttire.

very obv jacket is too small, I actually don't mind shrunken jackets, but only in a more fashion-forward context, like those Dior Homme / Lad Musician black shrunken jackets over a simple white v-neck.

And he button-ed his last button. and patent sneakers. and black jacket. so lots of rules broken, and not in a good way.

although if the customer can afford their pricing, kudos for being able to obtain the relative earning power. haha

I understand if you're wearing such child-like lapel for fashunz, like going to a club etc, but that lapel width has no place in a sensible business wardrobe.

Edit: You don't want to be that guy in the office with that kind of lapel. Extra skinny tie, nut hugging trousers and pointy witch shoes optional. (unless you work in fashion/creative industry)

I don't own Vanda, but friends that do swear by their quality. These friends can also afford C&J shoes and IWCs. So haha I guess it caters to a more well-off clientele.

Agreed that Vanda's pricing is slightly higher, but given the materials he uses and all that handwork, I think his prices are justifiable. Hober is also a good alternative honestly, in fact its one of the most value for money ties one can get in the market.

I confess I have a pair of nut hugging, slim fitting, not the most comfortable to wear when sitting down troussers, but the fit is done well so it still looks good. I wouldnt wear it to office, only wear as casual pants.

Miscommunication with tailor, lesson learnt, to be very precise about instructions.

I received expensive brand ties as gifts and the quality isn't as good as the artisan ties. No where near. The cheaper ties in the malls uses inferior materials.

If Vanda and Hober is beyond your budget, I recommend Tie Bar and Knottery when they are having sales. They are still better quality than any of the mall ties and much wider choice of design.

Ps: i am hopeless with tie and ps matching haha

This may sound wrong but when a gentlemen learns to dress up, more often then not the ladies will just take notice but will not appreciate the fine details. Its like you are just a well groom person to them that wears nice looking clothes.

All the fine details only other men will appreciate, so end up you are dressing up for other guys to see. Like in job interview, new boss, clients, the judge etc

Seriously the ladies in SG are more concerned about your 5cs than what you are wearing today. Hope no offence to the sisters here in the forum for this broad sweep statement.
