Hi, anyone can tell me if it is worth changing my current GPU HD 5750 to GTX 660 while the rest of the component stays.

Thanks in advance.

Purpose? If gaming, what games?

Most likely answer: yes, unless you have good reason to believe that the CPU is bottlenecking the 5750 (which is very unlikely for gaming).

if you are referring to this 'initial jerk' as when everyone picked heroes and loaded them into game, even me running on GTX670 also experience this. however after that all is smooth.

Get a GTX 670 instead. Two levels up from the GTX 660 and definitely worth the money spent. Sadly GTX 660 feels overpriced - upwards of $350 for a 7870-par performance. Or u can afford to wait for the launch of the GTX 760, which is a cheaper GTX 670.

Judging the most recent leaks,

it may not be a re-branded 670 anymore for 760.
More likely a rebranded 660Ti... Very sad..

TS may opt for 7950? $400 only with very good performance and OC capability.

Oh, ok...

Which means that the GTX 670 is here to stay sandwiched between the GTX 770 and GTX 660Ti.

Oh, any links to the 'leaks'? Coz too many 'leaks' these few days until u dun noe which one to trust...

After much research/price check through product list here..
- Look like more people prefer HD7870 over GTX660 and more of like it is comparing with GTX660TI instead.
(Mostly about the value over GTX660TI)
- Also, I still cant find any price of $285 for the 7870.. minimum i saw is Powercolour HD 7870 @ $294.. and sapphire is the brand that i like @ $327 i think but also never stat free game etc.:s22:
- There could also be discounted price on site which I am unsure of.

Would really like to know or how to find out on the actual price of these:
1) HD7870
2) GTX 660

Hmm.. thinking of spending less than $300 for a GPU lei..

If you want to go below $300.

7850 2GB OC ~ $269
650Ti 2GB Boost ~ $259

1 Tier up will be in the $300~$400 range.

I was recently tempted to change my GPU due to cheaper price from amazon?
But in the actual facts, I don't even know what are the Local price of the one that i am purchasing..:s13: Pricelist here are also unclear and could have further discount during purchase on site too..
These are some of the price in amazon.
Maybe some of the experience or recent buyer can help over these(Rough estimation in SGD):
1) HIS Radeon HD 7870 2 GB (256-Bit) GDDR5 - $270
2) XFX AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB GDDR5 - $297
3) Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7870 2 GB GDDR5 - $317
4) ASUS Graphic Cards GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 - $283
5) ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB GDDR5 - $263
6) MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 2GB GDDR5 OC - $263
If buying 7950..
7) Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB DDR5 with boost - $405
8) Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 - $432
Over $400 = need to pay tax/gst about 7% more i think..
So 7950 might not be worthwhile to buy from amazon?

I actually almost hoot the 5)Zotac as some people say u can save $100+ ? :s22:

1. GTX 760 (15% perf improvement from 660 Ti)
2. AMD 7790 or 7870. (Never settle bundle, don't play can sell.)
3. GTX 650 Ti Boost (most bang for buck Nvidia series)

A 7770 itself can get 60FPS constant in Dota 2 max settings alr.

Nice info.
1) GTX 760 is overkill ba..
2) what do u mean by "never settle bundle"?
3) GTX 650TI better than GTX 660 and 7870?

I also thinking for the future games just in case i need to play them example mmorpg.
Thinking a 7770 wont be able to perform well?

760 won't be overkill if you think of it as a slightly overclocked 660Ti.

Never Settle is a game bundle that comes free with AMD GPUs
NEVER SETTLE: Reloaded

650Ti is considered a bang for bucks choice, if looking at price/performance ratio.

Never Settle Bundle is the free games bundle from ATI/AMD when you purchase their gfx card. Only for HD7000+ series. Different GPU yields different game titles. 2 game titles per gfx card.
