As a M1 user, I have no issue with sending or receiving SMS. But I have a problem with the LTE signal, which cannot be recovered after I got out of a location with little or no signal (e.g. lift). Only way is to reboot and restart the phone to recover the signal.

Already sent my phone to LG service centre on the recent Monday, but still have not receive a call from them since...

Hi bro, can help update after your serving for the 4g problem as I got the same problem with m1 as well... This only happen to 4g when using 3G no issue.

As for the feedback from a ex honor user, this phone is so much fun and "useable". Last time use to switch to weekend iPhone but currently for 2 weekend had been using it...battery life is really very gd. Can easily last me for 1 whole day with whole day what app.

I got back my phone from LG service center this morning. The staff told me they changed the "flexi cable" (flexible flat cable is the closest that I get from google). But the problem still exists. I was in a room in my office, and the phone signal went blank a few times because the M1 LTE signal was quite poor.

When I got home, I did this test:
1) I used this LG F5 phone and a Samsung S3 LTE phone for the test (both are running on jelly bean 4.1.2)
2) I inserted the Singtel sim (originally from the S3) into the F5 phone.
3) I inserted the M1 sim (originally from the F5) into the S3 phone.
4) I placed both of them inside a secured safe in my home shelter.
5) The door to the shelter was closed to simulate signal loss.

This test was repeated several times, with each time lasting a few mins.
The results I got, which I think is quite consistent:
1) The signal on the S3 (M1) was never blank, only G.
2) The signal on the F5 (Singtel) was blank almost all the time.
3) The signal on the S3 (M1) recovered by itself very fast once I moved out of the home shelter.
4) The signal on the F5 (Singtel) also manage to recover by itself, but the recovery was much slower.

I did the test again with the sim cards switched back, i.e. F5 with M1, and S3 with Singtel, and the following is the result:
1) The S3 result for Singtel is the same as for M1.
2) The F5 result for M1 is different from that for Singtel:
a) The signal went blank, and could not recover by itself.
b) I had to toggle airplane mode a few times before it can be recovered.
c) This is much better than before the phone went for servicing.
d) Before servicing, the only way was to reboot and restart the phone.

The conclusion is that Samsung antenna or signalling hardware (maybe firmware too) is much better than LG!
LG behaves in a very weird way when using it with M1 (since M1 does not pose a problem with the Samsung S3)!
Note that for LG, this problem only occurs if using GSM/WCDMA/LTE mode. But for GSM/WCDMA mode, it hardly happens at all.

I have to say the problem you face with M1 LTE is rather puzzling. You could try providing feedback to M1.

i just activated 4g on my singtel plan and absolutely love it!

Hi, are you on the new subscription plans (with the reduced data packages <12gb)?
I am on the old 12gb plan and when I asked for LTE, they said it cannot be done and I had to re contract and switch to the new plans (reduced data cap ones).

That is what I was told too, i.e. currently, there is no way for SingTel 3G users to pay the same price they have been paying, enjoy the same data bundle they have been enjoying, & still get migrated to the 4G network.

Trust me man, I'm more than happy to go for this, but I did try, i.e. I tried the very 1st time you posted the method here: link, & somebody from SingTel did call me back, but the verdict is, "you want 4G, you want your old data capacity, then no same price".

I mean, I also have nothing to complain to the CSO about, i.e. it's not like I am saying there's poor network reception, or kena charged wrongly, etc. In other words, I have no "bargaining chip" to "demand" to be switched over to 4G, enjoy same cap, & same price.

May be you can share with us what approach you used, & how you actually bargain for it? How much are you paying per month anyways?

hmm, previously, when the ip5 just launch, i stated that i purchase the phone using my dad's line, and therefore when they wanted me to downgrade my 12gb plan to 3gb plan, i question if they are allowed to as i am only requesting an ADD ON VAS. and i didnt sign any contract or any agreement to allow them to downgrade my data. and in their add on vas before the NEW update. there is no clause that say i have to upgrade to the new tiered price plans.

but bad news guys. my method may not work anymore, since they added this liner

Support | SingTel

11. Can Flexi/iFlexi customers on the old 12GB plans enjoy the 150Mbps?
No, they need to upgrade to the new tiered price plans.

So, actually when did you try this "trick"? Slightly around the launch period of the IP5?

Hi LG F5 users!

If I need to remove the camera (for NS), where do I purchase the mobile phone from and where can I get the camera removed with the MSD sticker?

Sorry if this is asked many times. I tried searching in the forums but I couldn't find any answers.

Would really appreciate the replies!

Buy those that is already removed by LG. Those removed by 3rd parties would not be official and I doubt it will be
