Ok many thanks for all the advise but still have 2 issues:

First, my MP3s are all saved on my SDcard under the music folder. I was told to create sub-folders and transfer the respective song to each sub-folder and it functions as playlists.

Have done that but they still don't appear as playlists. I can't possibly select each MP3 one by one, there are too many!

Also, does anyone have any issues with their earphones. Either I'm an idiot who doesn't know how to work it or mine's a lemon. When you look at the remote there is a + and - at the top. Below is 2 dot thingie. I'm assuming one is for volume the other to forward or reverse track. I whacked everything and none of the buttons work. HUH???

BTW, besides turning off wifi & bluetooth, any other way to conserve battery?

I think what they are trying to tell you is just copy the songs you want into a folder and playback using folder option rather than playlist?

Really? Oh with regards to the earphone, this is damn weird. When I use Google Music Play, the remote buttons work. But when I use Samsung's own music app, the buttons don't work. WTF? Samsung's remote is not compatible with its own app? :s13:

Can't help you with that since I don't use the stock earphones.
Using it with the remote cable on my UE6000, volume doesn't work as expected, but call button works fine(can skip track). Check if you inserted the jack properly?

Is there anything we can do to conserve battery life? I have turned off bluetooth and wifi. Anything else I can do? Would turning off the vibrations each time I press a button help?

Also, for my email I have 3 accounts - Yahoo Mail, Gmail and office one using Exchange activesync. The first 2 don't appear to have option to push or turn off push. Exchange has the option so I chose NOT to push. However I still see notifications. Anyway to turn off? I believe this will save some battery life too?

The gmail app uses push. not sure about yahoo. Manual poling uses more battery than the normal push as the phone will be woken up every x min to check email.

Best way is to not install so much apps that will keep your phone awake or prevent your phone from going into sleep mode. i.e. many chat apps etc

phone awake = screen off but still processing in background

sleep mode can like 2-3 hr drop 1%

How do I delete the Samsung Mobile Bookmarks Folder?

Go into settings > general > application manager > all > com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks > turn off

Wonder why did Samsung decided to ditch the NFC antenna for note 2. I feel that reads your ez link card faster.
