Thanks for the info.

What I meant was. Let say we want to buy iPad air 32gb wifi

Other shop/ apple online: $828
iStudio: $813 (with the bundle)

So instead of $828 + $5 (screen protector) = $833
I only paid $813 include screen protector. Its like $20 cheaper

.

Im not affiliate with iStudio. But I want to find the cheapest to buy my future ipad mini r, that why discuss here hehe.

are you joking???

Their bundle price which I saw, is much higher than the retail price for ipad. Some is +$1xx (for iphone)

BTW their staff do not even know of the bundle. Last Fri launch, I went to paragon iStudio and asked one of the staff to give me the breakdown of the price cuz their selling price for ipad is higher or more than the official retail price. The staff was stunned for a while and look very blur before she asked her senior for help. The senior said the price was higher cuz it include the screen protector and even say it is ok as SP was an essential item ...

I was like.... okay... losing customers. Not all customers want paste screen protectors. Even the SP they bundle, they dont even bother to inform what brand etc. Obviously they are taking customers as fools. Any person in right mind will not buy that unless he ok with the SP and price.

Dude, $813 is without GST. It's there to mislead people.. The actual price is $870 with the screen protector

All the other store pricing of $828 is with GST.. you don't get to buy things without GST from iStudio unless you're flying off from the airport. Furthermore, there are other electronic stores that sells the iPad without bundle at the airport..

Oh and by the way, I found a place selling the iPearl screen protector at $24.90 when iStudio quotes $49 as usual price. lol

Volume is not huge enough plus they cannot replicate the Apple Store experience in SG.

There's Apple stores in heaps smaller cities than Singapore.

Why do you say the Volume is not here? What figures are you referencing when you make a claim like that?

Copy and paste from another thread. Just for a laugh. For those who bought in airport, can claim compensation?

Dear Nicholas Stone,

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback on Singapore Changi Airport. We are concerned and disappointed to hear of the inconvenience you have experienced and we would like to assure you that your interaction and satisfaction with Singapore Changi Airport is of utmost importance to us.

As landlord, we respect all tenant's business models and we do not interfere as long as they can match up to our shopping guarantees.

In order to give our shoppers better confidence, we have put in place a scheme where customers are refunded 2x the price difference should they find any price discrepancy at the airport versus the major downtown department stores/retailers in our comparison list. We have also taken a step further to ensure that our customers are fully satisfied with their purchases with our “100% Money Back Guarantee” Scheme, where customers who are not satisfied with their purchases for whatever reasons can obtain a full refund if they return the products, in good condition, with the receipt within 30 days - no questions asked.

We have conducted an investigation and iStudio downtown outlet stores are retailing the Mini iPad in the same bundle, in-line with their stores in Singapore Changi Airport. We assure you that Singapore Changi Airport have zero tolerance for tenants who exploit passengers. In order to keep up with our policies and prices competitive, we conduct monthly price checks vis-a-vis downtown comparable outlets.

In this instance, there is no breach of our policies as iStudio's prices are competitive vis-a-vis comparable downtown outlets at this moment.

We are in the midst of an internal review pertaining the compulsory bundle. As an big organisation, we have to factor a lot more considerations before a decision is made therefore we thank you for your patience and we value your feedback.

Nevertheless, we have reviewed and forwarded your comments to the operator, iStudio, for them to share more information on their sale. We expect iStudio to reply to you in a short period of time. We will on our side monitor the investigation and ensure that you do receive a response from them soon.

Thank you once again for sharing your experience with us.

Best regards,

For what it's worth they do seem to have changed their listed prices, as compared to what I saw on the launch day (last Friday)

agree. i too saw in the istudio outlet @ raffles place that they had "markup" the retail price by $50, saying it includes the screen protector. today i step into the store and saw the price now adjusted to retail price.

You seriously think such sales promotion will proceed without your management approval ? You seriously think we don't know who makes the decision ?

you have no integrity at all.....you are pushing all the blame to your sales people from the front line that help bring in money ...... I pity them......

Their reply to me last year is even more ultimate. Either my English level sucks or they totally didn't answer my concerns. Lol!

I refer to your complaint to CAG dated 12 November 2012 regarding the sales of the iPad mini with the Screen Protector.

iStudio has been operating at the Singapore Changi Airport for more than 5 years as an Apple Premium Reseller. Our Terminal Two store started operation 5 months ago. Our service level to Changi Airport passengers have been impeccable based on the many compliments as well as service awards we have received. As an Apple-appointed retailer, our main objective is to ensure the availability of Apple products to all passenger and to ensure our service standards meet with customer expectation. It is not our objective to exploit passengers at our airport by 'forcing people to buy things they doesn't want'. This is not our business policy. We do not force passengers to make purchases and we have not received any complaints of similar nature before.

Apple's full range of products are sold at very few airports globally. Their lack of availability is testimonial of what iStudio have achieved at Changi Airport. The availability of iPad mini as a bundled package is an example of this achievement. Your statement that additional profits are made from this sales of accessory is not accurate. We sold many iPad mini to-date at our airport stores and depending on stock availability from Apple, we will continue to ensure they are available to our airport passengers.

It is therefore regrettable that we have failed to meet with your expectation and we apologise for this. If needed, we would be most pleased to meet with you together with the relevant airport officials to understand better the nature of your complaints.

In the meantime, we hope to be of service to you.

Best Regards,
Shaun

I don believe that.. If there is only one apple store in spore... I can promise long que for every new product launch.. Apple atmosphere have to cultivate.

The problem is we don have a focus here in spore.

Premium reseller are spoiling every image and fail to replicate apple atmosphere in Singapore.

They are devoured by greed and the best thing they do is telling str in customer face with a greedy smirk "sold out"

I dun remember having a retail selling store in HK. The last time I went to HK they told me they will deliver to me. I guess part of what you mentioned is right, that is the atmosphere or experience in an Apple store. Volume wise still loses out. The region does not yet have the spending power of China, for which HK store is the gateway.

Noobiee abit too exaggerating. To be fair i think epicentre n nubox has been ok with their conduct.. I think only istudio deserves to be bashed?

encounter the same bullsh*t at epicentre (JEM) last saturday when my sister wanted to purchase an iPad air.

The staff said due to "limited stocks, you have to purchase a bundle package together with an iPad air", they are not selling any iPad without the bundle package. Told my sis immediately not to purchase it, and told her to buy online. And we walk off.

She went to courts next day and get an iPad air without any problems.

just sharing

Hi, i am from jakarta indonesia.

the same goes to me also :D
at 30 Oct 2013, before leaving singapore, i bought 2 units iPhone 5s at iStudio Changi Terminal 3.

The sales person (Mr. Rahim) told me that i will get for free 1pc anti glare monifilm as bundling iphone 5s.
It was my mistake that i did not check the sales draft before signing it :(.

I just noticed when i m in jakarta that they charged for 2pcs monifilm @$ 18.69

i want to post here image evidences of the sales draft, but can not...

Chanced upon this thread. Just like to share my experience.
Just bought one unit ipad air from istudio 2 days ago. Their sales people did check out with me whether I want the screen protector and casing, but I do have the option to choose not to.

Eventually, I bought the ipad air with the casing as their service is quite good.

IMHO, since istudio is willing to do some damage control, give them a chance to do so. At least they are standing out to admit their fault.

As pinkdior also stated, she faced issues with epicentre as well. There are jolly well other hard-sell instances by other retailers which are not highlighted here.

If you do not like istudio, then buy from others.

My 2 cents. :)
