if auto gives you better performance then i'm guessing it might be due to signal interference from neighbours and other devices.

also higher frequency and channel bandwidth means lower wifi range.

SUPER DISAPPOINTMENT! Sign up 200mb fibre plan (CEE promo) thru AhWise on 1st Nov. Scheduled for ONT installation on 12th Nov. M1 fly me aeroplane on that day, called M1 1627 and got the cheek to lie to me claiming that technician came but I wasn't in!!! (I took leave and waited at home whole day in vain!!!)

Went thru a lot of craps and BS from M1 CSO, finally told me OpenNet down not able to resolve, now am told to wait 40 working days before they can address any issue! I actually terminated my previous ADSL internet and fixed phone subscription with the red Telco as was super looking forward to M1 fibre... But ended up waiting indefinitely now!!

I ask for a solution for my internet downtime, was told in the meantime to use the free M1 mobile broadband SIM card at home for e time being. I asked for a dongle for loan, was told no such thing, told me to put into my smartphone and use hotspot!

Few days back, called me up again after I openly displayed my displeasure, assuring me they will do something, but still refused to tell me when will my ONT installation will be, claiming OpenNet problem, island wide all Telco affected too.

Waiting in anguish... Anyone suffering the same fate as me? Care to share if M1 had settled it for you? (I am typing this on my iPad that is frm the green telco)

it is true that there is a OpenNet capacity issue.

the ONT installation is done by OpenNet and not M1.

unfortunately the ISPs are getting the blame for OpenNet's problems.

btw, i recontract in sept, until now still waiting for OpenNet to come and install the black ONT.

I also signed up about the same time as you. Opennet came and confirmed 2nd port availability (1st port used for Singnet) on 9 Nov. M1 came and install ONT/Router on 13 Nov. Everything went smoothly. Now awaiting for fixed voice porting over to M1 later this week.

Guess I was lucky.

Hi AhWise,
need your advice..
my friend who is presently on m1 mobile broadband and mobile phone plan is interested in signing u for the 200mbps plan @$39.
his mobile broadband still abt 1 year to his contract and his mobile is on corporate plan.
is there anyway to convert his remaining period of his mobile broadband to the fibre broadband sign up so that he can save some money rather than wait until his contract ends and sign up the FB?
he also intended to sign another mobile line for his family member to enjoy the multi service discount.
u got any suggestion to minimise the cost when signing up for the FB?

I am told that it will take close to 2 weeks from fibre installation to port over the home line. Meanwhile, your home line with the old ISP will still work (provided you have not cancelled your contract) up till about 1 hour before the actual porting time. The actual downtime is only about 1 hour.

I was told 5 working days. The home line i'm porting over is already a digital line so I don't know what took them so long. As a result of this, i still yet to terminate my mio fibre as advice till the line si port over.

Nowadays OpenNet are unable to fulfill the orders and thus delay. Most customer are facing problems especially for those applying the fibre which gotta use the 2nd OpenNet TP point.

Just want to share a news to you all which was published today.

OpenNet fined $750k
The company met 91.3 per cent of its service orders within seven business days in April, but this fell to 75 per cent in May and 33 per cent in June.

im afraid not possible to convert the remaining mbb to fibre. So far I havent heard of it though.

To enjoy the multi service saver, he gotta have 2 mobile + 1 service. Since he is going to sub a new mobile line, ask him to check if converting his corporate plan + 1 mobile + 1 MBB + fibre to enjoy 20% disc a better discount or 2 mobile (1 of the line is the mbb) + 1 fibre at 15% better.

Is my speedtest result ok for M1 100Mbps fiber ?

Wireless connection

Currently using Asus RT-N56U router with DWA-140 as my adapter. Please advise if any upgrade is necessary in order to optimize my speed further.

are you blocked by 2-3 walls from N56U? If yes, I don't think moving to 5GHz will have a huge improvement.
else you can consider wireless N 5GHz 300mbps adapters
imho 60mbps is not bad for 2.4ghz 300mbps wifi
