Melatonin if too strong can cause you want to sleep the next day too... I take ZMA or rather my own blend for now. OptiZinc 30mg, Magnesium Caps from Now @ 500mg (with oxide, aspartate and citrate), 100mg P5P (Vit B6).

The most I am doing is 5mg. Seems enough just to get me to sleep but not enough to give me an extended vacation in lala land

I am no medical expert and I am probably totally wrong here but I got the impression that the time released version is like being in a boxing ring and get knocked down and right before you are about to revive, it would knock you down again..

I am taking the standard Now Foods melatonin which is not timed released. To me, it is like being knocked down once and when your body recovers from the blow, you are up on your feet again. Maybe that explains why I am up about 4ish am each morning and I do feel refreshed.

Do you remember whether the mg exceeded 150mg per pill? Also, once you declared that the bottles were all for personal consumption... that's it? So you can still get them fine except for the real hassle of going down in person to do the declaration?

Do you still remember how long your shipment was delayed because of this (days/weeks/months)? Also, assuming you bought other things too, did those other things get delivered to you separately as per normal or...?

Declaration was fast & the staff was helpful. Thankfully, this happened once once. There was no fine. I think the worse case was they impound the items.The hassle is to go there during office hours to collect the package.

In the old days, I shipped the items by vPost & it takes up to months to arrive. I had heavy items shipped by sea by US Mail because vPost minimum charge was to hefty for a low cost item. Obviously there was no tracking and I waited for months until it is delivered.

Now, shipping with iHerb is cheap, easy & fast. Incredible!
Puts Amazon's agents like iParcel to shame.

I love maple syrup but kinda ex. How does AGAVE syrup taste like? I guess it's sweet but tasteless? if not why would they have a flavored agave syrup?

I took the 10mg double layer, fast release on the outer layer to make you sleep fast and slow release as the core to make you sleep longer.

FYI, the Mag Caps (with oxide, aspartate and citrate) is always mainly oxides. The other 2 forms are tinier amounts. Mg oxide is not well absorbed by the body & much passes thru you as pee.

Consider getting Now Mg Citrate instead.

Are you all taking melatonin because you have difficulty sleeping or your sleep is not good? I think it is better to get to the root of the problem instead of relying on medication or supplement.

Mg Glycinate is one of the more tolerated chelates in terms of its laxative effects.Doctor's Best is fine, but each cap is only 100mg, so you'll need to take a lot to reach RDA or beyond. Usually I get Carlson's or Bluebonnet instead as they're 200mg per cap.
