wah thanks Roy!

umm any recommendations on shop? what does "buy with silicon" mean? the strips have silicone layer as protection?

what is the most fuss free and convenient head to solder on? assuming I dont have fan controllers etc, and I just want to plug and play. thanks!

sorry for the repeated questions, but I am going down to SLS today and hope to have a revised rig with pics tonight :)

Silicon one have a cover over the led. The non silicon one is just the bulbs one the strip of wire. Personally recommend silicon ones

Silicon is a rubbery feeling as displayed on the pic i took that covers the led bulbs.

Through time it will turn a bit yellowish. But the best is to find a black color strips, might need to hunt it at SLT. Cause with black strips it is definitely stealth and cant see the yellowishness after a period of time.

The most easiest to solder would be to a molex connectors. Your PSU has one connector which is a female connector. You will need a male connector and 2 pieces of crimps to solder the + and -. IIRC is pin 1 and 3 giving you 12V.

Lastly forgot to tell you. BE CAREFUL with the confusions of black and red wires.

Some shop sells Black is connected to positive while Red is connected to Negative. (Please check before putting it into the molex connectors)

I ever kenna once, lucky my Superflower psu just cut off the power. Dont know why Corsair RM do not cut off when shorted. Hmm.

Although if you are using high end PSU it will auto cut off the power if shorted. Cheap ones i dont know what will happen.

ok, so this is what I gathered:

(1) around 2m of strip for the 900d
(2) blue and white LED (I wonder if they make such a color directly rather than having to blend it)
(3)molex connectors (I dont really get the black red thing - umm so should I get +ve or -ve?)
(4) agreed on the black strips - will definitely go look for it later
(5) lastly and most importantly, umm what shop guys? im sure all of you got your personal favourites :)

Thanks all for spending your time and effort to help me - very different from marketplace where people spend time and effort to screw each other :(

Ans for no3.

Just like batteries, it has positive and negative. It is the same as electricity travels from positive to negative.

As for shops, they are all the same. Just differ by $1.

I think he meant that the red wires and black wires of the Molex connector must be careful cause different store's Molex wire color connects different things like positive and negative

oh ok I got it - so be careful when connecting the molex to the female connector from my PSU - if mix up +ve and -ve will end up shorting.

@shadow, hopefully they have the color in the pic that I posted earlier :)

Thanks guys!

This is weird... While playing Thief, system prompted me, saying that my RAM is low in usage. Opened up task manager and it was 6.12gb full. I ignored it and continue playing. Suddenly game crashed. Ram dropped to 3.3gb.

Seems like 8gb isnt enough... Chrome keep crashing as well. But now ok le.

Also, if i enable xfire, the game cant load. Only after i turn off, game can continue.

780ti at 60fps 100% of the time or 290 CF at 100fps 60% of the time bundled with driver issues, possible stuttering, random CTD and time wasted having to search for a possibly rare solution
