I had a payback of 2.54 years. Excluded the 3 pounds depreciation from the 16 pound production costs but didnt include any fixed overheads

Ya. I got positive npv and my fren negative. That's why I want to double Chk. Because part b ask for payback. If negative npv. Can payback meh? Just feel make no sense. Unless it's a trick qns

I also feel that it makes no sense to have a negative NPV and then have payback period.

Hey to all who took POA:
For the NPV question, why is the 5% fixed overhead included? I got a positive NPV of 77,000 (nearest 000)
For the cash flow question, is the depreciation for the year simply 2014's acc dep - 2013's acc dep? What was the amount of the purchase of non current assets?

My NPV ard there too, close to that figure there. Fixed OHs is included as it's a relevant cost unless it's allocated fixed OHs, but qns never state that it's allocated so I assume it's a relevant cost.

CFS i got acquisition of FA to be (166). It is because the decrease in cash is 156, bank down by 30 to 0 from 2013 to 2014, increase in bank overdraft from 0 to 126 from 2013 to 2014, so add up together the total decrease in cash is 156. Then work backwards to get purchase of FA (166).

Did you use the discounted cashflow to calculate payback or the undiscounted cashflow? If you use discounted cashflow to calculate payback, it will never have a payback.

Discussing answers here seemed to be very stressful.
You can see your marks slowly running away.

Hey for qn 1a with the extract of the financial statement (equity portion), the "dividends paid" is last year's dividend paid this year plus the dividend paid this year right? Since dividends are accounted for when paid and are not accrued

What's the depreciation expense? Was it 66 ( difference in cfs for Acc dep) or 58 ( dep for plant disposed or something?

Chiwawa, your purchase of Fa Includes the one for building? Was building 40? Cause me got 122 for
Purchase of plant.

And what's the interest expense? Isit just the one stated in income statement? Do we have to adjust?

:(:( I think I made quite a number of mistakes for my income statement. I think I should not add the audit fees in since they did not ask for provision for it? Not sure if I need to readd 3k to closing stocks :(. Sales must reduce right :s11:. Think my depreciation for MV also wrong.

Me get overall difference of 1000 between equity and net asset.

Must adjust I think. Cause my figures tallied. They repaid 200 loan halfway so you must recalculate the interest paid during the time when the 200 was still included. Think I got 21 for interest paid 16+5.

yes!!!

question 1 part a was a given, the answers are right in front of you. part b needs a little bit common sense and reasoning.

question 2 i have no idea wtf they are talking about.

question 3 a and b was straightforward.

question 4 a and b are easy. so many concerns you can take from the question.

as for theory i did question 7 which is okay.
