Oh yah, if you have a smart switch (e.g. HP 1810G) that does VLAN tagging, I can help you set it up in such a way that the router is in one room yet can cover the entire house back through the DB.

We can use the smart switch in the DB to tag a VLAN for internet connection - then make use of the Asus' firmware's VLAN profiles to have WAN and LAN on the same wire.

Confusing as heck but achievable :D

ive also read some posts here.. you guys having trouble playing 4k in youtube?
4K plays smooth as butter but you need a GPU that can decode 4K smoothly.

You can download GPU-Z GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility and check the video engine utilization - if it's close to 100% then the stuttering is due to your GPU not being able to catch up to the 4K decode.

Maylyn posted a few pages ago a screenshot of his GPU-Z - even his imba GTX TITAN is working hard to decode 4K video.

I dont think so. i can play 4k without problem with onboard graphics on a haswell 4670 and cpu load doesnt go up much. This is probably because i force player to run on flash rather than webm.. flash player using about 300mb memory when playing 4k. Also maybe because im on 1600x900 resolution monitor. Alot has to play with hardware but i'm sure hardware back to ivy bridge is capable. Also maybe because using SSD..

There shouldn't be a network issue as it's serving from Google's local cache, VQ is peered with Google here - completely unlimited speed :)

We were testing 4K out at the PC SHOW and YouTube's 4K is only 4-5Mbit/s.

Try forcing the HTML5 player, it should work better or at least use GPU/Intel Quick Sync decode. WebM/VP8 is not GPU accelerated on most hardware now.

I'm still using the super old 2501 Zhone, boo! That's something to complain about.

The BTO flat telephone points can be converted to Ethernet data sockets - just need an electrician to re-wire the points as needed.

LAN cabling promo is up to 50 meters free LAN cabling with surface trunking, but with the abovementioned phone to data point conversion, you won't need this.

Relocation is still chargeable at $100, it's cheaper than paying FTP activation charges for a new contract anyway :)

As for loyalty discount, there is $25 credit to your friend (existing subscriber) and yourself if you include a friend's name as referral in the signup form.

You guys can work it out and buy a dinner :p
Can I refer myself when I get new line or plan?

Don't scare me leh... if YouTube is lagging on VQ it's a very serious & very unusual issue already, as all content on YouTube is served by the Google cache @ NUS SOX.

VQ local bandwidth is extremely more than enough :p because of the way VQ network is designed, there are no local bandwidth "peak hour" issues... ahem.

You will need to play the YouTube 4k videos native on 4k displays to realise it's alot more taxing than you think. Yours have been downscaled to your resolution. Intel IGPU is only capable of playing YouTube full HD and that's it, beyond that it's stall lol :s22: :s13:

Alternatively try downloading those 2160p (< 100Mbps bit rate mkv videos) and do a playback, guarantee will lag you until zzzz

380Mbps bit rate :s22:

I feel the stress too :(

Hmmm... you will be surprised that one of ISPs is still bad on YouTube playback @ night :s13:
