AS Roma are prepared to listen to Manchester United over an offer for Kevin Strootman.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Strootman could be on his way to Manchester United after Roma softened their stance on the Dutch midfielder.

Publicly the club are maintaining he is not for sale, but the newspaper believes Director of Football Walter Sabbatini is privately willing to entertain offers of around €35million (£28m).

Strootman's knee injury and the arrival of Seydou Keita from Valencia has changed Roma's stand.

Manchester United are discussing a swap deal with Atletico Madrid for defender Joao Miranda.

The Brazil international admitted yesterday that he had offers on the table from England.

And El Confidencial says super agent Jorge Mendes is in charge of negotiations and is speaking with United and Barcelona.

Atletico have referred both giants to Miranda's €30 million buyout clause. However, United hope to talk down the cash component by including players in their offer.

United have put Nani, Anderson and Javier Hernandez on the table for Atletico to consider.

Personal terms have already been tabled to Miranda's camp - a four-year contract worth €5.5 million-a-season.
