Can ask what's the reason to jump from 7 to 8? I bought the 8 also but happy with 7 leh. Dunno to upgrade or not.

yup, i still love win 7. just wanna learn and advance to the newer 'environment'. Not advisable to upgrade if you ever tried win 8 and don't even like it :p

Once you hoot from DreamSpark, it's yours to keep forever, as far as i know. except MS office 365 whr its yearly subscription.

usually it is companies/schools that sign up on behalf of mass amount of users.
so I don't think an individual would wanna sign up via dreamspark for the bulk of MS Softwares.

She won't need a i3 for her usage . A simple dual core for her Microsoft office is more than enough.

Pair it up with a ssd is already more than enough for her .

Lastly not enough horsepower? No problem. G3258 can oc up to 4.5ghz . Turn it from a hamster to a savage rat.
