In all seriousness — all plans come with static IP standard + <anyname>.fibernet.sg subdomain as standard

Edit: Static IPv6 /48 subnet is assigned upon request FOC also — but not all routers are compatible with static IPv6 due to bugs not addressed by vendors.

Generally certified IPv6 ready logo routers will work (https://www.ipv6ready.org) – Asus routers are NOT certified IPv6 ready, but with some workarounds or RMerlin firmware it will work, but not production ready.

We realized that dynamic IP and static IP doesn’t cost us any difference, so why withhold it from customers?

How long would it take for VQ to come down to install the ONT and activate your service
Do I have to terminate my existing fibre contract first before signing up with VQ?

how long depends on Open net , once open net can do their job, VQ will take max 1 week i think.

8 static IP is a VAS — it is a routed /29 subnet of IPs (Of which 6 are usable; If I lost you here, it is probably not a service for you, ^^")

You will need an enterprise-grade router like MikroTik RouterBOARD, Ubiquiti EdgeRouter (available from VQ) or any Cisco small business router (not the Linksys lineage ones).

When you intend to sign up, you can email sales@viewqwest.com or call 6723 8100 and they can check the next available OpenNet appointment.

Generally the procedure is:

1. Apply for VQ services on FTP port 2
2. OpenNet activation date (VQ staff will let you know earliest available dates)
3. ViewQwest installation date (3 days after ON activation date — can be delayed on a case-by-case basis)
4. Termination of previous RSP services

To prevent complications*, I would suggest applying at least 1 months= in advance to cater for any OpenNet delays* — you can request delay in step #3 (case-by-case basis, have to speak to the CSO to see what they can arrange).

Monthly billing only starts after #3 and your Internet service is properly up and usable. Thus you can hold on to your existing RSP until VQ is up, to have a seamless cut-over.

* 2nd OpenNet FTP port activation lead time is not covered by the new stringent QoS/SLA standards set by IDA

If you apply during SITEX it should be just nice.

While VQ CSOs cannot divulge the promotion ahead of SITEX, you can always discuss the available appointment dates before SITEX and submit the digital form once the SITEX promotions are announced

The signup PDFs for promotions are always released in the days leading up to any IT show.
