phew...thanks to all.
finally settled accommodation.
those tatami styled guesthouses read in earlier posts no more liao, especially kyoto.

now to plan out my transportation.

wonder what events or festival do they have during new year's eve in Osaka.
or new year's day in Kyoto.

edit:
gonna have to re-tweak the attractions i planned.
my travel period between 29th Dec to 9th Jan clashes with a few closures like Osaka Castle, Nijo Castle.

Previously mine is only limited to ordinary car. never took green car before. must be super expensive?

There is green car JR Pass. Slightly expensive compared to ordinary car
14 days Green Car vs Ordinary is around $200
7 days is around $130 i think
